I just used these today. My first time compressing springs for struts and these work great. The struts were on a '95 corolla and they fit the curve of the spring well, I don't know how they'd do on a big pickup truck but if they fit on , they would work. I watched a pro on utube and all he did was snug them up , didn't really compress the spring , then loosened the nut. Once you start loosening the nut , the clamps take over. easy peasy. I actually wanted to see the clamps work so I tightened them enough to loosen the top cap. Excellent tool and I highly recommend.

These work well, are robust and a good value for the money.

I did like the quality and the use of them is fairly simple just on that its 5/5 but it actually didn’t fit my 2018 camaro. But thats on amazons side. Which is also understandable since its a newer car. The reason it didn’t fir was mainly because theres is no room for them and the gap doesnt fit onto my coil

I purchased too compress BMW 745Li front coilovers to avoid dropping the entire bottom suspension to replace wheel bearings and unfortunately had to turn these upside down with the tightening bolt up in the A-pillar. No way in no way recommend or suggest doing so but Due to the confining workspace from having to use these upside down I was only able to get one of the sides of the claws to grab the underside of the actual strut plate/support the actual spring sits on and a few times it was only one of the two claws holding the 70% compressed coil spring. Very unsafe make sure you have equal pressure on both claws of each side... but if you're looking at these little things thinking they're puny and the claws are small and maybe cheap well now you know these held their own on coil springs on the front of a 6000lb car with a v8 so for sure they can handle a lot of other cars out there just be safe wear safety glasses and use properly

I just purchased and took delivery of this coil spring compressor part # DN-B1005-E  and it does not even work at all!!! The four hooks that are allegedly intended to grab the spring coils are made wrong and will not slide over the coils, and the coil springs I have are a standard size, and are nothing odd nor rare. This product is a piece of garbage, and is a waste of money. Apparently they don't ever test any of the products they sell, because if they did, this one would never have gone to market. The tool comes with a card with an e-mail address and encourages the end user to write to them to let them know how their product is, and when I attempted to use the e-mail provided for that, my e-mail came back as "undeliverable" so apparently they've has numerous complaints, and yet this trash is still being sold!!

The tool seemed somewhat sturdy, locked on to the coils ok but i still had to play around with it to find the ideal spot where the coils would not compress on to the tool and limit compression (this is where i think the compressor with coil plates would come in handy), the main problem is the hex dead is too close to the hooks and binds against the coils when you are tightening it, i had to force it with an impact to get enough clearance and loosen the strut bolt, the hex head scraped all the pint off of my coils where it made contact which was disappointing

I have compressed many car springs with these. They have not showed any signs of loosening while compressed. They work good on thick heavy duty springs and skinny springs also

So I honestly used it one time and abused the hell out of them using a torque gun I had and a 9 inch 1/2 inch extension and the angle I had the extension going into the compressor at cracked the insert of the coil compressor but did not weaken it it kept going and I finished the entire vehicle so it did its job and I saved over 700 on labor so i am beyond happy with this product if it wasn't due to my negligence i could still reuse it cause I compressed it to max multiple times with no flex so I will buy again if I need to do a strut coil swap again cause they worked and for the price they're awesome. If you have any questions about my use feel free to ask!
