Great pen making materials kit. I botched the first try . Second i started to feel may way around pen making. The wood provided surpassed my expectations. The least looking figured, cherry, turn into a beautiful pen. Pleased with the wood. The hardware was as expected. My first thought was the hardware was too flimsy. However when assembled into a pen the hardware shines. Note: equipment is required to turn the blanks.( I suppose one could do that by hand) . Good experience.

A good starter kit for any wannabe wooden pen maker. Be careful how ever. Five brass tubes could not fit over the pen turning mandrel due to dents or constrictions. I am glad I purchased extra tubes. Before using the tubs in this kit, slide them on to your mandel to check if they are the right size or not damaged. More straightforward to replace a poor one before you glue it into your drilled pen stock

Purchased for my nephew who is just learning to turn - this was a great pack to get him started with plenty of options for variety and extras of each color so he didn't feel bad messing one up as he learned.
