I was hopeful because of the reviews mentioning this candle worked and the rim of the container was high enough to keep the wind from blowing out the candle. It arrived in a box to prevent damage, as opposed to a competing 4-letter name brand that just came loose without extra packaging to protect it from getting dented (it arrived dented), this Coleman candle arrived in good condition—until I opened the box it came in.The candle appeared to have been melted at least partially because it no longer was round like the can it goes in, the candle was slightly oblong and I immediately noticed NO WICKS to light the candle! I thought another reviewer was full of it, but this is how mine arrived. The wicks were stuck to the bottom of the can, and the top of the candle was smooth without any place for the wicks to stick out. How exactly am I supposed to get these wicks in the candle? The candle is useless to me, we need protection from mosquitoes and a wick less candle won’t do the job. It’s getting returned.

Citronella candles are great for keeping the bugs away in our back yard and this candle works exactly as expected. It's larger than most of the other candles I've used in the past and should last quite a while. It looks fine and is exactly what I expected from the photos, however it would be nice for it to look a little nicer for the price. Or to include a lid if it's intended to be used for travel / camping.

I love being outside when the weather permits, but so do the mosquitos - and they seem to love me. I'm like an all you can eat buffet to them. It's awful. It's like they can sniff me out from miles away. They show up in droves and feast upon me. I hate them...and to be honest, I don't understand their purpose on this planet.Clearly, I can't coexist with mosquitos. It's either me or them and I don't see them paying rent. I'm not gonna let them yuck my outdoor yum. Not anymore. If I wanna sit outside with a glass of wine and some tunes, they can't stop me. In fact, they can't reach me. Not with the Coleman Citronella Candle going. They don't come near me (hallelujah). I can actually enjoy being outdoors without being attacked - and because it's a large, 3-wick candle, it gives off plenty of light for those relaxing evenings outside. The candle burns evenly, as long as you have all the wicks lit and keep it on a flat surface, so you'll be able to use every bit of it, without waste. You could easily carry this candle with you when you go camping. I'd definitely recommend doing so if you tend to get ambushed by flying bloodsuckers.Great product. 5 stars!

This candle only came with ONE wick. We wasted 3/4 of the candle because it would not burn properly. A total waste of time and money.

It's finally summer break and I am so excited to spend my days and evenings lounging in the backyard! Unfortunately, ankle biters and mosquitoes are part of the world we live in so I am usually covered in bug spray or some sort when out in the yard. I decided to try the Coleman Outdoor Citronella Candle the last three evenings and it seems to have kept the pesky mosquitoes away. The wicks were easy to light and stayed lit even with the windy breeze up in the canyons. The citronella scent is strong but it’s that way for a purpose. I did have to push it a bit further away from me so the scent would be tolerable. I do wish the bucket came with a lid to keep the candle clean but it doesn’t bring down the rating. Overall a necessary item for mosquito free summers so I will be looking at add a few more to my backyard.

This candle lasted about 24 hours over three days I would say. It has a strong citronella scent and will definitely keep the bugs away.

Ordered these for our lakehouse and didn't open the box until I got there. One of the two had all the wicks under the candle and are secured to the bottom so my husband had A TIME trying to carve out the holes and pull them through. The other was okay. They are not as deep as I expected as well.
