Works great & is easy to clean out when needed. My daughter's high school softball team runs a snack shack and the ice maker was dying - the lower freezer compartment couldn't keep the made ice frozen for more than an hour. I cam across this one and decided to try it out because it's size is a better fit for the shack. It works GREAT!!! Puts out nice sized cubes quickly and keeps the cubes frozen overnight - very minimal melting. I love that it has a timer function to turn on/off the unit so we can let it rest over the days that we do not have games and just turn it on the night before gameday for a full frosty bin in the morning & it makes enough to last a full tournament day. It was super easy to install - fit in the same space as the old one and hooked up to the existing fixtures with just a little bit of new plumber's tape to seal it all off. It has a clean simple look and is easy to keep the exterior clean. Since it is smaller than the old one we were able to rearrange the shelving in the shack for a much more space and flow efficient layout. It self cleans which is another perk. It has worked great for us.

So this is replacing my older icemaker. It is built nicely and solid. Simple to hook up with minimal plumbing knowledge. The control panel is simple and to the point. Not confusing. My only complaint is the drain hose is quite short if you have to go a little distance and also if it breaks replacing it will be a pain. That being said don't let that sway you. My old one is 6 years old and the hose is drain hose is the exact same and has not shown any sign of breaking. However it is attached on the outside compared to internal on this one. The cubes are very dense and actually better than my old one as far as lasting. It progressivly makes ice faster as the compartment fills it helps chill the recirculating water hold and then the water freezes faster on the cube plate. This one is a better quality than my old on and much quieter than the old one too, like to thepoint I had to listen close to see if it was actually running. I like it alot and if any issues come up I will not hesitate to update this review.

If you're a huge ice user (like me) & have the proper set up for this larger sized ice machine, then this is something you definitely need! For starters, we entertain quite a bit in the summertime because we have an inground pool & a pole barn larger than our house, so this ice machine works great for using in our pole barn set up. It offers three different cube sizes (I prefer the middle sized one) & to get the entire bottom of the bin floor covered, it only took about an hour, which I found to be acceptable. When it's running, it's not very noisy, which also is a good selling point. And it has a timer function, so you don't have to have it running 24/7 if you choose not to. It has a cleaning function, which I like & as far as the price, let me just tell you that I paid just over $300 13 years ago for the countertop ice maker we currently still have & use, so this particular ice machine definitely has an attractive price tag.
