This router bit arrived in a small plastic case that protects it (and your fingers) from damage when it's not installed in a router. The 1/2" shank bit is impressively large and has spiral cutting surfaces in opposite directions to provide a clean cut on both the top & bottom of the workpiece. I tested it by mounting it in my router which is installed in a router table. I also used a corner rounding template (the orange piece in the photo) so I could test the bit's ability to follow a pattern. The bit cut hard maple smoothly without grabbing the workpiece in a dangerous way. I took several light passes before I made contact with the corner template. Since the bit has both a top & a bottom bearing, it can be used in situations in which the pattern is on the top or the bottom of the workpiece. The cut surface of the workpiece is fairly smooth, but I could clearly see that there's a slight difference in the diameter of the clockwise vs. counterclockwise cutters, which results in a slight step in the cut surface which can be seen in the photos. That could be a problem in some applications, and some sanding might be required to address it. I didn't see any tearout or fuzzinesss in the top or bottom surface, so I'd say that the compression design worked well in that respect. Overall, I'd call this a pretty good router bit, but the uneven cut surface was a disappointment at this price level.
