About this item

  • Supports Curved Pinky: A curved yet flexible pinky finger is critical to bow control, tone production and a relaxed bow arm overall; The pinky finger correctly approaches the stick from slightly to the rear, positioning the finger tip so the finger can remain curved and flexible without sliding off the front of the stick; This allows the player to easily move the bow to play at the frog, and to counter balance the weight of the tip of the bow while playing in the lower half of the bow
  • Adjustable, Universal Fit -- for child to adult hand sizes: The Hold Fish is designed to slide along the bow stick to come to rest next to the ring finger; This positions the pinky finger correctly in the Hold Fish; As long as the child or adult player is playing approximately the correctly sized bow, the resulting bow hold will be correct
  • Aids a More Comfortable Grip
  • Universal Fit -- for child to adult hand sizes

I am an adult beginner. I have a pinky injury from an accident. My pinky does not extend fully and I cannot apply proper downward pressure on the bow. With the fishy I can place my pinky finger in the correct position and my other fingers are able to compensate. My bow hold would be like that of a neanderthal without this adorable little fish. It has worked wonders, and my instructor even compliments my bow hold now. I can't recommend enough! Plus, it's pink and glittery, which is amazing :)

It is something beginner students can at least try out.It may help to get a general idea on how to hold the bow.The material it is made of is sturdy. It is not too heavy on the bow or rough on the hand.Again, for beginners students, it is certainly worth trying out.

The device works well enough, although my student removed it pretty quickly because he prefers not to hold his bow properly 😆. I would prefer the option of buying in bulk at a lower price point.

My son has been playing since he was 6 and this grip is a lifesaver for nice sounding notes. I didn't want to commit to spending so much on it but I am so glad that I did, it's worth it. He's now 11 and still uses this.

Got this for my daughter's 1/2 violin. It is easily installed and has helped my daughter greatly with positioning her pinky and getting a more comfortable bow grip. This is our second one because when my daughter broke her first bow, she forgot to take this thing off and it got thrown away but it's been so instrumental (pun intended) in helping her learn to play, we bought a second one.

I love these. Our orchestra made some "pinky cups" out of some tubing that I couldn't remember. So when I saw this on amazon I was thrilled. fits my daughter's 1/8th size and my son's 1/2 size just fine.

Our instructor is very happy with the consistently improved bow hold using our little yellow fishy.

My 4-year old child just started playing the violin and our teacher recommended that we get this to help with correct bow-holding. It is easy to use and does what it is supposed to do. It helps my child keep their pinky curved the right way when holding the bow. I like that there are different colors to choose from. While this is a helpful product, I wish it only cost about $5. Because it is really just a small piece of molded rubber.

Great little aid to help keep pinky in correct place on violin bow. I found it very pricey for what it is, but still a great product.

My daughter’s pinkie always has a problem, it is always too tight, not bendy. This fishy bow holder does force her pinkie to a right position. However she seems to get too overly relied on it, without it she could use her bow properly anymore. Also it’s a bit costly.

Just one little holder. I was thought the price should be at least for five little ones.
