This works okay and gets the job done, but it is kind of flimsy. If you have a bigger soldering iron, it tends to move the stand around when you rest the iron in the coil, just from the weight of a bigger iron and this being not the sturdiest soldering iron stand. Also, the sponge that came with this is laughably thin. I used this for a while (with a thicker sponge) but ended up replacing it with a much sturdier soldering iron stand that I got off of a stained glass artist on craigslist. That one has a heavier base, is more solidly constructed, and doesn't move around as much.

I needed a holder for my wood burning iron so I purchased this one and it woks perfectly. I altered it slightly to meet my needs.

This soldering iron holder is a must for anyone who has a soldering iron. It is convenient and gives your soldering iron a safe place to rest. The small sponge allows you to wipe off the iron after use.

I bought a cheap stand for a soldering iron that I already had.Sponge isn't anything to brag about, but overall the stand serves it's purpose for what I was willing to pay. With a little modification, weight can be added to the stand to keep it in place. It's enough to get you started or for a quick repair.

I bought this stand for my brass insert soldering iron which I use with my 3D printer. without the stand, the iron just rolls around on my bench. The sponge is pointless - there is no way to keep it in place.

This stand would work with a lightweight soldering iron, but it's unfortunately not strong enough to hold up my Weller Therma-Boost TB100 iron, which has a pistol-style grip. I can't fault the product, but I can't trust it for my use.I will fault it for the cleaning spunge, which is just an extremely thin layer of spunge that doesn't sit securely on the holder.
