I've had trouble with grass shears purchased from box stores being cheaply made and breaking and rusting to the point of becoming unusable, often in a short period of time. I have had outstanding experiences with Corona tools and so I bought this, and I am quite pleased so far.It is slightly more expensive than most grass shears, but you get what you pay for. This is worth every penny. It cuts smoothly and you can feel the tool is solid. There are no plastic parts that can break, only the handle, which is inessential; the rest is steel, and the mechanism operating hinge and the spring is fully metal too.One comment, if you are going to do a lot of cutting, you might want to also buy (or instead buy) Corona's Hedge Shears. You cannot operate those one-handed, and they are a lot heavier, so for small and quick jobs, they're slower and more cumbersome, but if you're doing to do something big like edge a whole yard, you will find them much faster and less tiring. These shears are great if you want to clip a small border here and there but aren't doing a big, extensive job. They also aren't great for shaping larger shrubs or any area where there is a large area to cover. If I were only going to buy one tool, I'd recommend those hedge shears instead. But I prefer owning a pair of both. These are faster to use more casually, like when I'm doing other work, I can have a pair of these in my bag and bust them out whenever I need to cut a small clump or edge of grass here or there. They're much lighter-weight than the hedge shears and can be put into a large bag, unlike the hedge shears which are heavy and bulky. So that's how I'd assess which one is best for which purposes. Honestly I think every landscaper or homeowner would do well to own a pair of each! The best part is you just buy it once and you will have it for many years...or until you lose it. Seriously I misplace my Corona tools before they ever wear out, not that I lose tools often, just that they're so well-made they pretty much never wear out.

I love these things - they’re not super fancy but they do such a good job. Our lawns aren’t huge so it’s easy for me to hand clip around them and create the rounded edges that look so pretty at the edge of the beds. These things take quite a beating from me and they last a long while. Every once in a while I sharpen them - completely happy.

If you have ever owned a pair of those grass scissor-clippers, the kind that rotates from vertical to horizontal, I think you will like these clippers much better. I had an old pair of the rotating kind, and frankly I gave up on them a long time ago. They didn't cut much, and then just modest amounts of grass. I still have mine and don't even know exactly where they are, it's been so long since I enjoyed their frustrating use.I just received these Corona Clippers in the mail, and decided to try them out. They are heavy, but not so heavy that they make my arm tired.I like the fact that I can switch to the other hand when one arm gets tired, as I'm ambidextrous and it's real convenient for me.They will cut most small stuff except for wood. (well, I didn't expect they'd cut wood anyway)I like the solid cut they provide, right down to the ends of the blades. You can snip by the ends or cut the entire length of the blade, either works just fine. The spring is pretty firm, however for a woman I have large hands so it's not much of a bother for me, but I can surmise that a smaller-handed person might have issues with it.Anyway, these have more than met my expectations, and I'm a very happy camper. I definitely won't "lose" these!

Very sturdy, nice and heavy. Just tried them today for the first time. A day vs night difference between these and all other garden clips I've used. I will recommend this brand to other gardeners.

Works well for intended purpose. Unsure of durability, but came sharp and purchased sharpening stone for them going forward.

3 stars because they work well, well designed and sharp blades. BUT they are heavy ! I bought them to trim grass with and I don't recommend them for that because of the weight. However, they are good from trimming my plants. I saw on the packaging that they note them for cutting sod. My guess they would work great for that. Good product overall, not just for the use I bought them for.

Awesome tool for the task of manual grass cutting.Tough, cutting very well, it will definitely last.Appears to be high carbon steel, which is an excellent choice as it could be easily re-sharpened.Due to this choice of steel it will rust if you leave it to the elements, and I suppose that was what the folks, complaining here of the rust, have done. Just take care of it and will take care of the job.Highly recommend.

These are very good grass clippers. They are heavy duty with a strong spring. I tried them out in some long thick grass and they cut it no problem. I am not very talented with a whippersnipper so these are very useful to me. I bought the sharpener as well to make sure they are always in good working order. These are the best quality grass snippers that I have ever used.

Sharp and works well. Best for small jobs because it is heavy and the blades are a bit short.

Heavy shears with non flex blade. Seem tough, easy to sharpen. Design seems rustic but tried

I clip shrubs and smaller twigs with this shear. My husband has only given it a sharper edge once.Clean it after each use, to avoid build-up of gunk on the blades.
