My husband and I found these to be very helpful for putting our string Christmas lights on and we used stickers and a sharpie to label each location of lights. They are very sturdy compared to many we've owned over the years.

I love these, they keep all my lights organized and detangled. My only complaint is that they're a bit tall so you have to have a taller than average storage box to keep them in or the lid won't close.

Having used cardboard cut from boxes to wrap my lights for decades, I hesitated to buy these as 1 commenter said that these were made out of cardboard. I'm very glad that I bought them. They are actually made from a Masonite type of board. It's a manmade board that is very solid. It can hold a lot of weight, will not bend or tear like cardboard boxes. Don't get them wet of course.They are very large also. Good purchase, good price.

These hold more lights than spools and they are very sturdy. You can fit more than 600 Christmas lights easily while a typical spool can fit 300 on a good day.
