About this item

  • [Output SPDIF Audio from USB Port]- Cubilux USB SPDIF Adapter turns the USB port of your computer into a powerful source of high-quality optical audio signal transmitter. Note: This device is designed for transmitting audio ONLY, NOT for receiving/inputting audio signals.
  • [Stereo Sound ONLY, NOT for 7.1/5.1 Surround Sound] – This version does not support the 7.1/5.1 Surround Sound system and can ONLY transmit STEREO optical audio signals.
  • [48KHz/24-bit Chipset] – This version restricts the sample rate to 48KHz, 16/24-bit to provide plug-and-play compatibility on most Macs and smartphones. Please note that transmitting an audio signal with a sample rate higher than 48KHz/24-bit will cause distortion or intermitting sound.
  • [Durable Desing] – The premium aluminum alloy case and robust braided cord make this USB A to SPDIF Optical Signal Adapter a stylish yet durable addition to your stereo audio experience.
  • [For Computer ONLY] – Tailored exclusively for computers, this audio converter is your go-to companion for pristine stereo sound on computers. (Not suitable for TVs, cars, or other devices)

Works great for its intended use =) Got me away from the pesky 3.5mm jack for audio I had been using.

The product description states that "This version restricts the sample rate to 48KHz, 16/24-bit (Compatible with 44.1KHz, 16/24-bit)". I don't know what they mean by "compatible" but it does not expose a 44.1KHz sample rate to the host, so there is no way that it can be compatible with that sample rate. Other than that, it works fine.

Needed this when I found out my computer didn't have a S/PDIF...which is weird because nearly every motherboard I've bought has had it.

It costed me $30 to get this plug. I waited 3 weeks for it cause it was sent to Nashville 3 times & all the way to TX & KY. Then when I finally got the plug, it didn't work so I'm out $30 for nothing.
