Great product, fit my 07 XC70 perfectly. The install took about half an hour using basic tools, and I did not need to bend or modify anything, as some other reviewers noted.I do have a few tips to help with the install though:-Having a set of jackstands to hold up the hitch is a big help if you don't have helper to hold it.-The instructions sheet shows the hitch bolting on top of the exhaust hanger bracket. It does NOT work that way. Once the 2 bolts holding the hanger bracket to the body are removed, pull the bracket down as far as possible. I did not find it necessary to remove the rivet holding the heat shield to the bracket. There is enough play in it to just move it out of the way. Once it is slid out of the way, there is enough room to slip the hitch in. The hitch will sit flush with the body, then place the exhaust bracket against the hitch, then thread in the bolts.-On the pass side, remove the tow hook and discard, as it will not be reused. I imagine that hook was used during the shipping of the vehicle when new. The hitch will serve as a secure towing point now.-The exhaust bracket and tow hook are each secured by two bolts, however the hitch mounts with 3 bolts per side. The 3rd bolt is to the rear of the car, it's a pre existing threaded hole that is not in use (till you install the hitch!).I really like the hitch, it install very easily, and it tucks up nice and close to the bottom of the rear bumper. It also came with a hitch pin and the attachment for a ball, however I really don't need that since I bought this mainly to haul a bike rack. It is nice that they included that though.

Had to bend open to get to fit. Not an easy fix.

I was slightly hesitant to purchase this item as the reviews indicated that some people had experienced manufacturing tolerances which made installationImpossible without some bending. Product arrived as promised and it was installed the next day. Fitment and quality were excellent. Installation was straightforward, although the instructional diagram had one obvious error, which was ignored.

As far as the actual hitch goes, it is really solid and really nice. The problem that I have is the product description says that it fits with out drilling, but it doesn't mention that it doesn't fit with out cutting, at least for my 2002 Volvo XC70 (V70XC). Amazon lists that it fits my car, but the instructions from Curt Mfg. says it doesn't. The instructions say it is for a 2003+ XC70, and the instructions were correct. The exhaust hanger bracket did not give any room for the hitch, but I was able to make it fit nicely by removing the exhaust hanger and cutting off about .25" of one side of the hanger bracket using a cut off wheel. To take the bracket off, I first had to pop out a rivet that connects the hanger bracket to some heat shield. Cutting off .25"It didn't seem to mess up the structural integrity of the bracket, so all it all it wasn't bad. I also had to put them on in a different order than the instructions listed to. The instructions say it should go frame, exhaust bracket, hitch, but to make it work it has to be frame, hitch, exhaust bracket.

Installed on a Volvo XC70..-Easy to install, using existing threaded holes in frame.-Hides well on XC70 compared to other hitches.-Functions well, as to be expected from a Curt product

I am a fairly accomplished mechanic had to spread the bracket out approximately 3/8 of an inch to make it fit proper, I don't know if it was in transit it may have gotten damaged or that was the way they made it it's made of good solid steel and well-designed.

Would not fit 2004 Volvo XC70. On the right side had to use sledge hammer to widen the mount. On left side had to use tool to widen both holes because holes were not aligned. Did not have to modify rear bumper.

Perfect fit, easy install (a second person just to hold one end helps to get it started.I literally unbolted the exhaust hanger, installed the hitch, and bolted the exhaust back on. All hardware came with the package.NOTE: The factory rear tow hitch gets permanently removed from the car when installing the hitch.I installed on a Volvo C60 and it hides well and tucks up under the bumber very nicely....much better than more costly options with big brand names.

Fit my Volvo XC70 like a glove. Easiest hitch install I’ve experienced so far.

Ordering and delivery was easy and fast, and it came with the required hardware and instructions.Like the other non-positive reviews here, the hitch didn't fit without widening the distance between the vertical brackets welded to each end of the tubular steel cross-piece. It was close, but not close enough. This made what others have described as a 20 minute job into an all-afternoon affair as I tried to bend the brackets to fit and coax the mounting hardware into the mounting holes. Now that it's mounted, it looks solid, discrete, and durable, but it took a whole lot more effort than I expected to get it mounted properly.
