It includes a class 3 hitch and a custom trailer wiring harness to plug in trailer lights. The class 3 hitch is specifically designed to fit certain years of the Toyota RAV4. It offers a custom fit and is rated for up to 3, 500 lbs. GTW and 525 lbs. TW, as well as 4, 000 lbs. WD and 525 lbs. WDTW (limited to lowest-rated towing component). It features a standard 2" hitch receiver and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. It also has industry-leading rust resistance, inside and out, with its co-cured liquid Bonderite and powder coat finish. Included with this class 3 hitch is a custom trailer wiring harness for the vehicle. The wiring harness equips the Toyota RAV4 with a standard 4-pin trailer wiring harness, and it requires no splicing for installation. It is also built with SMT circuitry and a potted enclosure for maximum longevity.

The product fit my Toyota RAV4, I did have to take a rubber mallet to the sides to flex the metal out just a bit to line up with the holes on the car.It came well packaged without a scratch. The only down sides they sent the wrong wiring harness, but the customer service with the vendor was wonderful, once I sent the wrong one back with their prepaid return they quickly sent the correct one out. The only downside was I never got to use once it was installed on the car, due to getting rear ended not long after it was installed. It did prove to be a lifesaver though, had it not been on, the people in the back seat would have been injured, so the quality is pretty solid and was a good value for your money. Would I order it again, yes.

Just wanted to let people know, since it seems to be a question that I could not find an answer to online, yes, this hitch bolts right on to a 2018 RAV4 LXE. I haven't run the wiring yet, so I'll update the review after that happens. Edit: the wiring harness went in easily. Forget about climbing under the car and run it on the inside and through the firewall grommet. The hitch was okay but the wiring harness does not fit my 2009 RAV4. The wrong harness was supplied with this hitch and had to reorder the correct one from Amazon after contacting Curt product support.

THIS DOES NOT FIT A 2015 RAV 4 AWD WITHOUT MODIFICATION.The mounting holes do not line up front holes need to be brought in and rear holes need to be pushed out. it is do able but it is not a quick job.The wiring harness DOES work perfectly

I have a 2011 Rav4 Sport. The receiver looks and seems to work well. Initially the bolt holes for the frame rails did not line up, so I had to whack it a few times with a 10lb sledge hammer to spread apart the mounting flanges by about a 1/2". The frame bolts on my Rav4 were very rusty, so I had to douse them in PB blaster, and then run the bolts in/out all the holes before mounting the receiver.As for the wiring harness-- I don't know because Amazon shipped me a returned item as "Brand New" and it was totally missing from the box, along with all of the original packing material (ship from/sold by Amazon). Curt customer support was also not helpful in replacing the harness and said it was Amazon's problem. I didn't have time to wait 2 to 4 weeks for the whole return process to work out (they wanted me to ship it back... and it's no longer in stock), so I just kept it and ate the $70 loss. But terrible experience all around. My suggestion: just buy the receiver by itself (Curt 13149) and get the wiring harness separately. You'll save yourself a lot of trouble (and it might even be cheaper), esp if the wiring harness ends up not fitting for you.

the tow bar is perfectly compatible with my tayota rav4 2012, but the wiring for the light is not, the connectors do not match. I think i need 56165 wiring harness.
