Product Size:
Small- Adjust diameter from 1.77-3.14 inch(45-80mm), 0.275" (7mm) in width & 0.01" (0.28mm) in thickness.
Large-Adjust diameter from 1.77-6.69 inch(45-170mm), 0.275" (7mm) in width & 0.01" (0.28mm) in thickness.
Package Included: 12pcs small CV joint boot band clamps, 12pcs large CV joint boot band clamps, 1pcs CV Joint Boot Band Tool.
24 Pcs CV Boot Clamp Kit and 1pcs CV Joint Boot Band Tool are included.
Step 1
Wrap free-end clamps 3/8-inch or 1/4-inch roll band and clip around boot, thread band through clip tool nose and through winding mandrel slot.
Step 2
Tighten the band by turning the handle on the tool; use a socket or wrench on the handle to torque the band to OE specifications.
Step 3
Cut the band to the correct length by flipping the lever (at the front of the tool) forward.
Step 4
To complete clamping, fold down the remaining tail of the band into the clip and secure it by tapping down the ears of the clip.

My Dad broke a couple clips putting one on a CV boot. Luckily, this came with a couple clips, so it wasn't a big deal. Over all, my Dad said it worked pretty well and got the job done.For reference, my Dad has been doing his own car work as a hobby for over 50 years, so it's possible less experienced mechanics might have more difficulty than he did.

I used this unit to replace boots on RTV axles.The tool came with the cutter lever reversed (it should be toward the handle).This was no issue because loosening the set screw and reversing was a no-brainer.It did exactly what I needed otherwise and I'd purchase it again.I watched YT videos for how - to. No instructions given.

A little surprised that this works as well as it does. I have used dealer level tools the were not as good. Good value as well. Not an everyday tool, so will last a lifetime.

Tool works as expected....no issues. But I ruined 3 straps before I figured out you can't tighten the straps very tight....when you fold them over to secure them and cut them, the strap clasp can bend/come apart. I finally got one to work, but I would prefer to tighten them more...I want a very tight/secure fit. Time will tell if the straps hold ok.

Tool broke on first clamp. Handles fall out and doesn’t tighten enough to hold Cv boot on. Would not recommend

The first product didn't have one of the levers riveted in at all. The replacement one had it riveted in backwards making it not usable
