I continue to come back to these medium strings for my Gretsch wood body resonator. I have slightly tweaked my neck via the truss Rod to compensate for the medium gauge. That isn’t advice it’s just what I did and I like it and I really like the tone and feel.mostly use with a slide so bends aren’t the first quality I look for although I personally find these bend well for me after 15 years of playing. Probably not great for beginning string benders. Stick with light or extra light. I generally tune up to open A and these handle well without destroying the neck. Get a lot of life out of these with heavy string finger snapping my personal go to for this particular guitar.

I go through strings pretty quickly. The D'Addarios last a decently time - 3 weeks or so @ 2 hours/day. At roughly $6 a set these are a giveaway - the time it takes to change them is worth more than the strings! I like the tone of uncoated strings - the coated ones lose the brightness and attack.

I got these strings because I asked my favorite Celtic folksinger, Dougie MacLean, what he used. I tried them and they are bright and clear-sounding. Listen to a sample of Dougie on Amazon and you'll see what his acoustic guitar sound is like. I'm very satisfied and I'll keep using them.
