Your cart is empty.Helicore Hybrid bass strings are multi-stranded steel core strings that produce a moderately warm tone quality. The core design makes for strings that are very easy to play under the left hand. Damping is optimized to create a good balance between pizzicato sustain and bow response, allowing for good performance across many playing styles, from symphonic to jazz or bluegrass. Scaled to fit 3/4 size bass with a playing length of 41 3/4 inches (1060mm), light tension strings will allow for easier bow response. The HH615 Low-C (extended E) string is only available as a single string and is not part of the HH610 set.

These strings sound amazing on my ancient Bass Fiddle - I crossed over from gut & classic symphony - to these - to play in a delta blues band. They deliver well - project the sound thru the voices and still keep the beautiful deep tone from my bass (no name about 100 years old). I can keep them quite and deep - or strong and slappy!!I love them.

I searched and searched for replacement strings for a friend's Stagg electric double bass (3/4) and the first two sets we tried were too short for some reason (they were 3/4 scale). The third set we tried were the standard stagg stock strings, and they were just a bit long but worked. However the G string broke during installation since we were very inexperienced with changing double bass strings. Ordered this helicore one but thought it would be too short, and to our surprise it fit perfectly! Finally got the bass up and playing after weeks of struggling to find the right strings. So I figured I'd leave a review in case anyone else ever has our same problems. Great strings!

These are ideal strings for the bassist who mixes a little jazz and symphonic music. The pizzicato sound is quite nice with good sustain for jazz and the arco sound is full and round. You won't get as much volume as you would with a traditional orchestral string but for those who do a little of both on one instrument this set fits the bill nicely. These strings have a fairly soft feel as well with a medium tension.

My youngest son plays the upright bass and when a string broke, I had to find a replacement. Lucky for me, I did my research. Based on the reviews, I choose D'Addario strings and I haven't been disappointed. These strings are tough, yet ring clear when played. And they are reasonably priced.

I usually use medium tension set for my regular instrument, but for smaller instrument I use for traveling, with 100 cm string speaking length, medium tension strings feel a bit too soft and speak slow. So I tried this heavy tension set and it was great success. I feel enough resistance from the strings, and get nice punch and low frequencies even with smaller body.

I bought these strings because the reviews were positive for use in any kind of music. They have a nice crisp sound but made my upright bass sound like an electric. I primarily play in an orchestra so will choose a different type next time. However, if you’re going to play a broader variety of music I would recommend them.

Great strings. I broke 2 recently which surprised me, and I've replaced with same. They have lasted a year, so not bad. Great tone and feel.

At the moment I am playing a mixture of pizzicato and arco, and these strings seem to do the job nicely. A nice clear, bright yet full sound (mind you my last strings had been on my bass for about 25 years so anything would sound amazing in comparison).

Estas cuerdas me gustan mucho más que sus hermanas helicore pizzicato o Helicore Zyex.La tensión es muy suave y se pueden pulsar fuerte sin que pierdan su calidez y definición.Las encuentro ideales para contrabajos que de por sà tengan una tensión dura, ya que compensarán la rigidez de una cuerda de acero convencional. Otorgan un sonido abierto semejante al de la tripa con un volumen y gruñido mayores. No tienen el ataque tan marcado como unas spirocore, pero son más agradables al tacto. La primera cuerda es demasiado fina para mi gusto, como también ocurre en las spirocore light. Son más finas que las Evah pirazzi y su sonido es menos apagado, pero tienen ese chorus extra de las cuerdas de tripa de la vieja escuela.
