Easy to use, fair price, and a good sealer!! I've bought it twice now and will buy more in the future!! Just wish they sold it in a greater bulk quantity...

I used a normal torch to fill the cracks in my driveway. This stuff actually seems like a better quality than the stuff my local and very reputable ash fault contractor used. It's slow going with big deep cracks. I didn't just ram it in the cracks and heat it with a torch, I treated it more like sweating copper pipe, I melted the end of the rope and pulled it along the cracks slowly until they filled to the top. I probably would have saved some time and money if I'd pre-filled the cracks with something first. (maybe sand or crack sealing caulk) I may have over heated it but it seems like it did a great job anyway. From what I can see, this seems like the best product on Amazon for DIY people like me but I will also say it's not a quick fix. I probably fixed around 100+ feet of cracks on my long driveway and it took 10-15 hours hunched over doing it.

This did a great job filling in a lot of cracks that were around 3/4 of an inch think...you can follow the manufacturers directions and it works great.I ended up just burning the very tip of the filler stick and allowed it to melt straight down into the crack..think of trying to light a candle...just hold the flame on the tip and it melts off quickly...I used regular propane as it burned plenty hot to do the job. This stuff does not harden to a solid finish but stays a bit rubbery as one would expect . For what you get this is a good deal just clean the cracks out as best you can, I used a shop vac for my cracks as the dirt in them was easily removed. When I finished I ended up putting on two coats of sealer on the entire driveway for that uniformed look.Giving this a four because of the ease of application and at this point it looks to have done a nice job..will tell after the winter to see if this held up.You can also use this for expansion joints but I would think you are going to have to double or triple up on the joints using this material.

If you have the time and a MAP torch, this is the way to go. Caulk dries out and comes loose. Not this stuff.

Well, like most I have tried everything to fill the cracks in my asphalt driveway and every spring the cracks are back and even bigger. I read many of the reviews and used much of the advice on this product. I used MAPP fuel, TS8000 torch and the PLI-STIX. Like many things, it's all in the preparation so I used this on my cracks around a half inch wide. Cleaned, widened and filled the cracks with sand up to the level that the STIX needed. While I was doing that I stretched the STIX out in the sun on the driveway. By the time I needed it, it was very pliable and I could stretch it thru areas slytly smaller than the STIX. The torch melted the stuff in a second. Areas that was larger than the STIX, I would cut off a piece of the STIX that I needed to fill the oversized crack with a utility knife, worked great, just melted it in with the initial melting process.I have a large driveway and walk so I used up my one roll today and will order two more. I'm not sure yet how small a crack I will try this on, but I did use the melting it into the smaller cracks method by holding it over the crack and as it melts use the melting STIX to rub it into the crack, it worked pretty good. I wrote this because the fill really looks great right now but I won't know until next spring about how it performs after the winter.

PRO: Flows and fills cracks nicely when it melts. Cures very quickly,CONS: Hard to keep in cracks as it heats up- turns into a moving "snake". Difficult to melt.HINTS: My propane torch worked much better than my heat gun, but kept going out when pointed downward. A generous helping of charcoal lighter fluid helped a lot! Also, work with short pieces (maybe 12-18") at a time.

This product really works and probably the only one that works well in my experience. However, unless you are only trying to fill cracks the diameter of the product, it does not work too well the way the package suggest which is to warm it up and stretch it to the diameter of your crack. Most cracks on my drive are small and irregular in shape and if you try to warm and stretch the product, it will stick to your hand. However, the good news is that if you hold the Pli-stix over the crack and use a blow torch to melt the material and let it drip into the crack, filling it up until approximately 1/8" inch from the surface, you will get a very good fix. A regular blow torch used for copper work does not work well as it is not hot enough, the best torch is one that use MAPP gas with an instant on torch head, this torch will allow you just the right amount of heat. If you drip the stuff outside the crack, just heat it up a bit afterwards and wipe the excess off with a paper towel. This way, you will not have the filler on the surface that may soften and stick to your shoes in the hot summer. To get a nice finish, sealcoat the whole drive afterwards and the whole thing will blend in.One caveat is to avoid heating the asphalt itself too much with the MAPP gas torch, this can melt the asphalt and allow the liquid asphalt to drain away leaving the granular substrate, this will weaken your asphalt drive. The good thing is that you have to really try hard for this to happen, and if it does happen, drip some if the Pli-stix material on it and glue it back together.Remmeber, I am not an expert and so use common sense and the above suggestion at your own risk.
