I replaced the cartridges (stems) on the wife's vanity sink last year (American Standard "Williamsburg" 2-Handle faucet set--it's discontinued now--installed 22 years ago). Last year, I used 2 genuine American Standard Cartridge 994053-0070A/H parts. My vanity sink started to drip/leak last week, and I thought I'd use these Danco 10472 4Z-24H parts; they look almost identical, and have good reviews (and wereslightly cheaper in Aug 2022). I didn't "troubleshoot" the leak--just decided to replace BOTH cartridges, as they've been in service for over 20 years. If you haven't done this recently, watching a few videos will give you confidence. Install only requires a Crescent/adjustable wrench. These Dancos were set up for "COLD"--to move to HOT, you'll need to: 1) 'carefully' remove the c-clip on the stem (it's spring metal, so it could fly away), 2) lift up and rotate the silver-colored stop washer to the opposite detent (to the right, as you look down on it), 3) ensure the silver stop washer is once again seated flat against the cartridge body, and 4) 'carefully' reinstall the c-clip (remember, it's spring metal, and could go flying off). The replacement itself only takes a few minutes--the hardest part is either getting to the under-sink water shut-offs, or going outside to shut OFF the main water service. The quality of Danco cartridge seems excellent, and they are a perfect replacement for the American Standard Cartridge 994053-0070A/H. Probably good for another 20+ years.Note: when I specify HOT or COLD sides, I mean a typical USA install for a 2-handle faucet, where the HOT handle/tap is on the left side, and the COLD handle/tap is on the right side.

Update: Danco responded quickly and is sending replacements - can't ask for more than thatI had a 20 year old American Standard start to leak, so bought two of these, one to keep as a spare. The replacement started leaking in about a month. I replaced it with the second and that one started to leak, also in about a month. Very surprising to say the least. I replaced it with an American Standard original and that one has no problems going on six months or so. Maybe a bad batch, who knows?

I bought these aftermarket valves for a bathroom sink because the same aftermarket from a local store leaked and they didn’t have any more. These leaked too. I then ordered the American Standard OEM valves and they work perfectly. Danco used to be a trusted aftermarket brand for faucet parts, but the last four years the quality went downhill. Don’t buy this valve, spend a little more for the OEM parts.

When first installed the water would not cut off all the way because it hit the wall behind it. I removed the copper clip and rotated and that worked.Works great and turns easy

This site had only one available and I purchased an Identical item locally so as to have new in both adjustments. However, one of them drips and I'll never know which it was.
