Nine bucks? Get outta here. I had an old tub faucet that would slowly shut itself off in the weirdest way and also made this terrible chattering/knocking sound in low flow situations that reverberated through the whole house and scared the dog. Replacing the end washer made no difference. This is an exact match to the original stem, despite this faucet being a Briggs from a different era than these stems supposedly come from. I dunno. I just found the one that looked exactly the same, and it worked, lol. Chattering is gone, shutting itself off is gone. Guess I don't have ghosts...or just the stem was haunted.

The item works well in my Citation branded bathtub faucet. One stupid mistake I made was not to tighten the seal around the stem. Be careful not to take it out of the package and just screw it right in. At least on mine, that screw that holds the washer around the stem was loose and so my handle still dripped at first. If you replace with this new stem and it's still coming out around the stem you need to tighten the screw farthest out towards where the handle goes so that the washer around the stem will seal. Otherwise it was an easy change and it works well.
