I purchased the Pondmaster 190 a couple years ago. I have a pond only 8inches deep and i've had problems forever in trying to filter it. I've lost many stocks of fish due to minor lapses in other cleaning methods. However that filter i've never had problems since.It offers biological and mechanical filtration but no chemical filtration. So if this method is critical in your pond i recommend avoiding this filter. However for me, my water chemistry is usually not difficult to maintain so i'm less worried about chemical filtration.I'm not sure what the manufacturer recommendation is, but i change the media every six months, but with that it requires either monthly or fortnightly cleaning and rinsing of the media.So if buying new media is easier that's a better option.Regardless this is an excellent product (both the filter and media)

I have used these for years. I thought I’d try another type over the summer & regretted it. The pumps clogged almost daily. It was a full time job keeping the filters clean. Buy these and avoid that, these stay clean way longer !

For a great pump. I like the fact that they are washable. I'll rinse them during the month, and change to a new one at the beginning of every month.My pond is only about 150 - 200 gls, and this works really well. My goldfish have spent the past two Winters in the pond with the filter running all winter long, and that's in VT. I recommend highly.

Exactly what I needed. Perfect fit. Just opened the package and placed in my water pump. No cutting or trimming needed. Very happy with my purchase. Would definitely recommend this product, it is very well made. Will repurchase when I need filters again. :)

Works great for small outdoor fish pond. Pump runs year round, I wash these out weekly during the summer and 2-3 times during the entire winter.
