This kit is perfect. Before I mounted my TV, my daughter who is 21 months old loved getting as close to the tv as possible and even touching it to point out what was on it and it just irked me. I didn't like telling her no or punishing her for it, so I knew something had to be done. Thus, my project began. So when I decided to mount my TV, I knew I didn't want to pay an electrician to move my AC outlet, because I knew these extensions existed and didn't break building code (in Layman's terms, it won't void your homeowner's insurance whereas running a power cord from your TV behind your wall to your outlet will). This thing was a breeze to install, directions were very simple and detailed. I was able to run 4 cords behind my wall through the holes of the wall plate. Although the HDMI cables were a little difficult to get through the hold on bottom half, they fit.Once I got my Television mounted and everything was plugged in, I pushed the power button on my TV and it turned on, but there was nothing on the screen. There was still a back light, but no menus were coming up on the screen, no volume indicator, no input selection, just a black screen. Doing a little bit of research it seems the power inverter on my television is out now. I'm not too worried as my TV is under warranty and since I cannot prove whether it was this kit that caused the problem, I will still give it 5 stars as I wait for the parts to come in and the technician to come out in order to repair the television. If I have any problems after the TV is repaired, I'll change my review appropriately. Until then, this seems to be a solid product.______________________________________________________________________________Update 03/09/2015Due to parts being back ordered, I ended up getting my TV replaced. I put it on the wall, plugged it in, and it works like a champ leading me to believe that this product was not the cause of the first TV's issue. This in wall extension does the job and looks sleek.

It works, hides the cabling. If I had known how much trouble it was to install, not a cause of the product but due to the hidden items in the wall such as: Fireblocks, wall studs, electrical boxes and conduit. The first thing is use a good stud finder to get both studs and fireblocks. If you can check both sides of the wall on the install for electric boxes. I screwed up and resulted in a conflict with a box on the other side. Ended up rotating the new upper box 90 deg. to resolve. Measure the new hook-up cables length and don't be afraid to get longer lengths than you think you need or add more cables than you need. Have 2 HDMI cables that need to extend (guess it is easy to pick-up a female - male HDMI at Walmart.). Also cut the first hole smaller than you need just so you can see the cable route below. Works great if you need to rotate the new box, you can always trim it wider as need or get some spackle. Tough had to use my cell photo, tape measure and a flash light down the main box hole to get the cabling pathway right and position the bottom outlet box. Ended up bevel cutting the sheet rock a bit to fit the boxes in b/c it's at least 5/8" rock here. Think this kit is designed for 1/2" rock. Took me little more than half the day to install. Nightmare install, glad it got done. Oh the instructions are OK ... there is just a point where they don't help if there is a problem or conflict. Got the kit w/o the surge protection b/c surge protectors only last so long and will need to be replaced. Put a surge protector between the outlet and elect. outlet, something you can get to some day.

This kit worked perfectly. I was pleased that it had romex for inside the wall and a regular extension cord for outside the wall. You can't run an extension cord inside the wall (its against national electric code), so the romex (NMC) was appropriate. The kit had everything needed for the install, minus the tools needed to put it in the wall, of course. It made a clean install and looks great. I will be buying again for other TV's in my house.

This is probably the only compliant way to hide your tv/cable wires behind the wall without calling an electrician, and it's really the only way to get a professional looking job to your TV mount project. When it's done, the TV looks like it's floating on the wall, and that's the look you want, anything else looks tacky, in my opinion. I want to preface this by saying, that I'm a handy female, and this was an easy installation. I had already installed a Power Bridge before, and this item was pretty much the same but cost less. My one BIG complaint is that this company gives you a flimsy piece of paper template that you cut out and then trace on the wall. I advise you get your own piece of substantial cardboard and trace the template on to it and use that instead, or a ruler or some kind of straight edge to hold the paper firmly as you trace it. My cut outs did not work. The top box was okay, but the bottom box was too big for the junction box to snap in like it should. I had to patch the wall and do it over again in a different location. What I found out the hard way is when you use your dry wall saw to make the cut outs, cut slightly inside the lines. If your cut out is too small you can always skim off a little more, but you cant put it back if your cut is too big. I found it to work perfectly, when doing this, the junction box fit snugly and everything snapped in securely. At the end of the day, the product works fine, and I highly recommend it if you are mounting a TV, or electric fireplace, I've used it for both.

Great product to hide your TV wires. Suggest watching You-Tube videos on installation. There are some great points to know.

I installed it at my friend's house for them and it went smoothly. I would recommend that you cut small holes in both locations prior to cutting the template holes when you are going to install first to avoid issues in fishing the electrical wire. It my case there was a 2 inch ABS drain pipe behind where the lower plate was going to go so I had to relocate it and do some patching. The ABS pipe is not detectable by a stud finder. If I had cut two small one inch holes first, I would have spotted the pipe. Otherwise, the installation was easy and straight forward. This is an excellent solution for wire concealment.

I like the design, well built, allows for multiples cables. The only issue and it is not the product is that the wall I needed to install it on has 2x3 studs instead of the standard 2x4. I will install it using a piece of 1/2 plywood which will make the difference.

This is great however the plastic clips are not made the best and ours broke while installing it. :S

The setup is clean with this product. The knly complain is the white cover for the electrical connection, I wasnt able to keep it and put the box flush to the wall, so I only put electrical tape to keep it safe. But overall it works great and can allow for a tv flush to the wall and no extension cord in the wall or visible cables.
