Saved money not having to take it somewhere. Took more time disassembling computer components and desoldering the broken port compared to only a few minutes to actually resolder in this charging port. Computer functional again and can charge computer again. Perfect fitment.

so, this was my first DIY to fix a soldered power jack and I did it! Thanks to the perfect PHONSUN DC Power Jack. It is a different color but fits snuggly, right in. My laptop is resurrected. My laptop is an Acer 3, A317-53.Thanks!

definitely a poor/weak design. must be very precise when removing old one, I used a heat gun just hot enough to melt the solder, not too hot... carefully cleaned up the holes with thin tip iron then soldered new on. works as it should, advised customer to be very gentle as this is a very brittle jack by design...

Had this installed by a laptop repair place. They said it would probably melt during soldering and then I'd need to buy the part from them anyway. The reality was that they were able to install it just fine in record time. My laptop is charging normally again!
