I have a Bosch 2 1/4 HP router in my router table, and it did a fine job with some 3/4” bore rail and style shaper cutters I have. You need to slow the router down a lot. I wouldn’t say that it is going to replace a shaper. I no longer have access to the shaper I used to make doors for my kitchen, and was in a pinch to make a couple more matching doors, and this did the trick.

I have several 3/4" shaper cutters with t-bushings for 1/2" spindlers that I bought in a clearance. I don't have a shaper, so I decided to buy this arbor. I was so satisfied with the behaviour of the cutters on my router table, that I bought a second one. This arbor is intended for 1/2" shaper cutters and I guess it will behave even better with them, considering I used it with 3/4" cutters and t-bushings. Of course, you need a powerful router (mine is a 3 1/4 HP one) because shaper cutters are heavy objects!

This is a basic solution to how you mount a ¾ bore cutter to a large table router (using 2 bushings - supplied with a lot of cutters - Freud, for example. This does the job well. Made well enough. Simple, and it works!

the arbor is fine but you will have a tough time finding anything to fit it. every one makes cutters spacers and bearing for 5/16 NOT 1/2. it is good quality but fairly useless in a router. perhaps a shaper.
