This tape is stronger than you'd think.

This joist tape has very strong and sticky adhesive. It is a great product to have on hand to not only use for decking but also household projects. It is weatherproof as well, I have zero complaints.

This tape unrolls easily, and easy to apply. I use it on plastic and metal pipes, and it stuck well. Rained on it for a few days with no problem. This is a cheaper solution to fix things around the house than to call in professionals.

I just built a temporary extension deck, and since the 4x4s are resting in a way that they won't properly drain water they absorb, I used this on the tops of them. This tape cuts easily with a razor blade and comes with a backing that needs to be removed before it is applied. The backing is necessary because this is a REALLY aggressive. It will probably stick to just about anything. It was easy to apply after I cut it into the strips I wanted. If I was applying it to longer runs, applying it directly of the roll as the backing is pulled would have worked well. The one caveat to this is the cellophane tape used for holding the label in place went under the first wrap around the roll and it wasn't obvious until it wasn't unrolling quite right. The 4x4s required 2 passes to cover the tops, I expect the tops will be well protected from water with the bit of overlap.

It was fairly cold the day this arrived and I opened to check it out. Even cold the adhesion was good. Typically, If I am working with butyl on a cold day I have my head gun out. Just a little heat makes any of these stick like a champ. I also like the newer trend of using the "mylar" type backing material, rather than paper. I was finding the paper to be a nuisance to remove , especially when the roll had gotten warm at some point. For the most part the newer backing comes off much more easily and cleanly. Good tape, works as it should.

I use the tape on some weathered wood, and it stuck really well. It is also stretchy enough to get the wrinkles out. I also used it to flash and waterproof around the flange of a window installed on OSB. Time will tell how long it lasts, but I'm very happy with how it worked. It's also much cheaper than the brand-name rolls that the big box stores sell.

Didn’t notice that “Protect†was spelled incorrectly the first time around - definite sign of a bad product from China. Advertised as 4-inches wide, sticker on product said 4-inches, but product only measured to 2-inches.

We bought this for our little hot tub deck that we needed. I figured since there will likely be more water present, that it would be good peace of mind to add this tape. It's pretty easy to install. Just roll it out and press it down. It's very sticky but you can reposition if you need to. I probably could have gone wider but the important part is to ensure all the top parts are covered and that you overlap your seams. It took us 2 rolls to do and 8x10 deck.

The tape rolls have 2 layers of packaging and tape so are different to open. Once open the backing tape keeps tearing so is really fiddly to apply. Quality much lower than my usual tape. Would not recommend

I used Box store joist tape before but turned to Amazon for the best prices. This joist tape was better than the big box product in my opinion. I liked how easy it was to peel off the backing. Product had good adhesion & even has some stretch which is helpful.Highly recommended for joist protection!

I’ve used both E-SDS (1-5/8 and 3â€) and Neuradical (4 and 6â€) joists tapes. E-SDS is thicker and therefore wraps the screws bettter and doesn’t stretch when pulled tight during application. It has good stick and doesn’t come off. Neuradical comes in wider rolls and is super sticky. It’s thinner and will stretch when applying. If I need wide for triple joists I go with Neuradical, otherwise E-SDS. E-SDS is better, however doesn’t come in super wide.
