Where it Goes:
The 24 in. DEEP DRIP Watering Stakes are designed to efficiently and effectively water your medium trees, including fruit trees and newly planted trees or saplings, directly at the roots.
Three stakes per plant are recommended
Place 3 stakes in a triangle around the trunk, either outside the root ball (new trees) or canopy (existing trees)
How it Works
DEEP DRIP waters, fertilizes, and aerates directly at the roots, conserving up to 50% of your outdoor water use by preventing wasteful run off, evaporation, and excess surface watering.
The specially engineered cap is UV-protected and designed for hammering into the ground with a 3-5 lb. Sledgehammer.
Get in the Ground
- Hammer the top of your stake’s cap and drive it into the ground, using a 3-5 lb sledgehammer. Continue to hammer until the stake is buried and leave the shaft’s top hole exposed. Don’t strike at an angle or with a drip line connected or hammer an uncapped stake.
- If you have dense, tough, hard, or compacted soil; pre-soak the planting area and/or use a soil softener to soften the ground before installation. Once the area is well-saturated, hammer your DEEP DRIP Stake into the ground as far as it will go (with stake cap on)
- Take the cap off and run water directly into the stake to start softening the soil from below. Repeat the process until you have driven the stake all the way into the ground, leaving the stake’s top hole exposed. - You can also use a 1.25-inch auger bit to pre-drill a hole where you wish to place the stake for even easier installation
Using a Drip Line
- Once driven in the ground, remove your stake's cap
- Insert the end of your ¼” drip line down into the stake, with the adjustable emitter head sitting halfway between the shaft’s first and second holes
- Place the stake’s caps back over the shaft, securing the dripline in place with the caps slotted drip line hole
- As water enters the stake through the drip line, it will deliver water deep underground to the plant’s feeder roots
- Ask your local nursery professional for recommendations on watering levels, times, and refill rates specific to your plant’s needs – the more DEEP DRIP Stakes around your plant, the lower the flow and watering time needed
Using a Hose
- Dig a well around your plant; larger plants will need a larger well and more stakes (follow the stake placement guide for instructions on how many stakes your plant will need)
- Inside the plant well, bury stakes, leaving the stake’s cap on and top hole just above ground.
- Place your hose on a slow, but steady flow within the well
- As the well fills up, water will flow into the top hole of your stake, watering deep down to your plant’s roots.
- Ask your local nursery professional for recommendations on watering levels, times, and refill rates specific to your plant’s needs.

Difficult to drive in since the soil here is all packed clay on top of caliche, but well worth the effort. Improved the efficiency of my drip system and the trees are showing it. Also makes it much easier to fertilize.

Works great and gets water to the roots without over watering. Only downside is I have found dirt and roods have been filling them up inside. I have 4 or 3 on each palm depending on the type on 17 trees.

It's a great quality product that can withstand big blows with a 2lb rubber hammer and go through the ground without breaking.Highly recommend

Even though the pictures show a stake and the instructions say insert stake first, no stakes came with the tubes. The ties and netting were included as shown in the pictures.

Well made. Tough enough to pound into heavy clay soil. Hook up to a dripper line , and it puts the water down deep where it needs to be.
