I am so glad I finally got myself this stand. It makes playing so much more comfortable. It has loosened up with use and is easier to set up and get the right height so I am pleased. I wish I had gotten it 10 years ago but am glad I have it now! Decent quality and seems like it will stand up to use for many more years.

This item was pricey and a little finicky as far as adjusting, but it does work and is better than a big block of wood for holding the weight of a tuba while practicing!I found that the unit does not really stand up to the weight of a tuba if you only use the black round handle to tighten up the adjustment, so you have to use the silver bracketty thing to set the height securely, which requires a hex wrench to adjust.That means if you lose the hex wrench you have to never adjust it or find another hex wrench.There MUST be a way to securely hold the hex wrench to the item when it's not in use but I didn't really see anything designed for that. Perhaps the product to could have a tiny redesigned feature with this in mind, or a little permanent handle or something else. Quick release like on a bicycle, perhaps? Why reinvent the wheel?That said it is great for what it is and what it does and I am heartily glad I purchased it. Essential for sit-down practice.

I hurt my back a few weeks ago. As part of the recovery process, I’ve been using this stand for a couple of weeks with TENOR SAXOPHONE! Using this stand instead of a neck strap to practice and in concerts has been a huge help! I gave it 4 stars because I wish it went lower in height, which would make it useable with a wider variety of seat heights. I’ll likely continue using this long term with tenor sax. My back already agrees! I do think it’s a little pricey for what it is. That said, I did see that there were more expensive options that do the same job.

My friend switched tubas and his new one was heavier. A local band director suggested we get him a stand to help support the weight. I didn’t think he would stop smiling when he first used it at rehearsal. It was a big hit.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas so hard to rate it. My brother in law is a retired band director and he recommended this one for my husbands tuba.

I had to upgrade to a full size tuba while mine is in the shop. Normally I’d put my 3/4 on my knee but I knew that wouldn’t work with a full size. It allowed me to adjust to the right height needed. Compacts down easily.
