I had a pipe thread copper fitting that was approximately 4 " out from the wall. The replacement faucet has a adapter on it in case your copper fitting coming out of the wall doesn't have a threaded pipe fitting on it. Since my pipe had a threaded pipe fitting on it, I removed the plastic adapter with a Allen wrench and the replacement faucet fitted into the threaded pipe perfectly. The only difference between both faucets was the overall length. My faucet was approximately 5.5" total length and replacement was 7" long.. The length did not make a difference as the inside connection on the inside of both was the same.

After shopping at home improvement stores and online this is the only one I found that matched. Cost more than the others but good quality.

The old 1980's tub spout looked gross. After carefully inspecting the old one for the correct replacement I chose this one and it installed easily and works perfectly. I am no longer fearful of bathing with a gross tub spout staring at me!

This bathtub spout with a diverter was bought to replace a spout I had bought years ago at Home Depot. This is a metal spout, the HD one was plastic. This is a beautiful spout and clearly a quality product. Looks and works great

I may have given this 5 stars because I'm sure it might be a good product but I, ignorant to the fact, didn't realize that Moen and Delta are NOT interchangeable. I don't understand why except for the obvious. Just know that you can NOT interchange the two. The water exchanges differently therefore it would've been $100's if not more to get to the back of the tub to change the water exchanger requiring going through a wall behind a kitchen cabinet because of our tub/ shower location. (I'm not a plumber!) Therefore being a complete waste of money after surpassing the return window and almost $50 down the 'drain', I have no use for it.

There are not any picture of the different parts of this tub spout online anywhere I could find, so I'm hoping this helps people looking for some detail. The biggest problem and fatal flaw of this spout is the "adjustable" opening where the screw goes to tighten onto the pipe. By making it adjustable, the spout never really feels like its solidly in place. The adjustable opening has no threads - its self-threading - and it does not do a good job of holding onto the screw. I could not get it to sit still after installing.Will it work? Its not going to pull off the pipe easily but it will pull off. However, the spout will turn pretty easily. I guess it would work if no one touched it. I have five kids, so that's not going to happen. Returning for something that has a different installation type.

Replaced an old Pfister tub spout. This Delta fit like a glove. Diverts all the water. Very happy.
