I thought my mix poodle dog had to have short hair to keep the mats out. No, just need to brush often and go after the tangles when they happen. Just like people hair. I like this comb as its easy to hold and use. Its not sharp, not as much as I now realize would be nice to have. I was afraid to buy it thinking it would give my dog a hair cut. No, it just glides out the snarl. It is hefty enough to hold and not get a hand cramp. The tips are rounded enough to not scratch the dog's skin. It has enough tines to get some business done but not too many where you get too stuck. I use this one then a more fine tooth comb and that is a nice combo to keep my dog's long fur tangle free. I imagine it would work nice with thick coats and undercoats. I have another comb with with hook like tines that is great for the shedding short hair cats. These longer wavy tines are good for brushing out long fur. I'm happy with the quality and comfort to hold, its holding up well.

Definitely a must get if your dog’s hair gets matted easily. We have a shih-tzu/poodle mix and hair is constantly matted.This worked wonders and his hair is softer.

I was hoping this was gonna be the one that finally worked. Not so much. It didn't cut thru the mats of cotton candy fur on my cat.at all. I had to pull and tug which of course my cat would have no part of. So once again, it gets put up in a drawer with all the others. I thru away all the packaging so I figure can't return. Nice try but no cigar.

It works really well with pet hair.Be careful because you may cut yourself cleaning the hair out, I did!

It's a great detangler. My Yorkie was really calm, tool very gentle to his skin. I could believe how easy to use. It took me half the time to groom him with maximum results.

I couldn't get this to work for my Maine Coon. Maybe a different animal would produce better results but I didn't have any luck with this product. It's a quality brush in terms of build quality though.

This is a great comb. My dog's hair is always getting tangled and forming mats. So I diced to give this a try and it helps me a lot to keep up with her hair and nice. It's great for de-matting for the price.
