I bought these little guys in a desperate attempt to lengthen the interval for descaling a steam humidifier. We have semi hard well water and it builds up on heating elements quickly. I saw these mineral absorption doo-dads and gave them a chance. I am so glad I tried them. I cannot believe how well they work. Recently, after about six weeks of use I decided to clean my humidifier which is three times the frequency I’d normally descale it. I did it out of curiosity more than need, there were none of the feel-tale signs of the humidifier getting called up. I was stunned at how clean the heating element was on inspection. There was pretty much no build up. These little guys are worth their weight in gold to me. They save a ton of work during the cold season.

These are the exact replacement filter cartridges for the little humidifier I used in our bedroom this winter. It is a Rite Aide brand humidifier model RAUHE-CM18.I’m not really sure I need them since I always use distilled water, but I used them anyway. Yay, No white dust in my room from minerals. Worth buying and would recommend.

Our hard water causes my humidifier to cover every surface with white dust. I put two of these into the tank. While they don't completely prevent the mess, it's a lot better than it was without them.

I have a large humidifier, 4+ gallons. I'm on a well and the white dust was just crazy bad. I started using demineralization cartridges last year and they do work. I keep about 16 of these in the humidifier tank, and am now pre-treating my water by putting 4 pods each in a couple of gallons of water that i let sit (occasionally shake when i remember) because I was still getting a bit of white dust from freshly filled humidifier because the pods don't immediately remove mineral. Much better, but i wish there was some way to tell when they are no longer effective besides the presence of white dust.

Works well but two of the cartridges were empty so I didn't get the full amount of advertised cartridges.

Living in Colorado it gets very dry and as such I have 3 humidifiers set up around my home. Initially I found a white haze or fog starting to appear on furniture etc. After some googling I found that minerals from you water can dissipate into the air and then settle on things in your home. Well, this resolves that. I put 2 in each humidifier and change them out when I change out the humidifiers filter.

I have been using these pods for 3 weeks and I havent seen any change. I am still dusting white mist off of the furniture. I am disappointed.
