I bought this set as I am already on the DeWalt battery system and did not want to continue using gas equipment for my yard. The trimmer works excellent and is a good weight to prevent straining. The blower works great, but goes through batteries quickly. It's not a problem for me because I have a bunch of batteries, but it is something to consider if this is your first DeWalt set. Overall, I would highly recommend this set for its value and durability.

I have a big lawn and lots of buildings to trim around. I thought the trimmer would have more power n last longer than it does. The trimmer doesn’t work very good for what I have to do. I go through 2 4 amp hr and 2 5 amp hr batteries doing my yard and the job isn’t done yet. But I have a lot to trim around. So for small yards this trimmer would be fine but not for big yards. So I think next year I’m going with another gas trimmer.The blower is awesome, I use it a lot. The batteries don’t last that long either but for the little I do use it, it works just fine.

I ordered this set because of the price. Reviews were mixed on power, but I was looking for convenience more than anything. The weedeater is light, has good balance, and handles like any other straight shaft weedeater. The power is not as good as I expected based on reviews. It works just fine for edging around the yard, around curbs, bushes, trees, etc. It's not much for cutting down tall grass or thick weeds/brush. For comparison, the full power of this Dewalt unit is about the equivalent of half throttle on my Husqvarna 128. I used a 5ah battery, barely finished my front and back yard. Obviously hard to compare yards and edging, but for reference I can edge my yard 3-4 times on one tank of fuel with my Husqvarna. The blower works ok. It's light and has good balance. Not nearly as powerful as I'd hoped or expected from the reviews. To compare, my Husqvarna 125 at idle is about the same as full power on the Dewalt. I'm not at all disappointed in the purchase, and feel it's a good value. I wanted a weedeater and blower that were quick and easy to use, transport, and grab on a whim. That's exactly what I got. I did not purchase the battery units to replace my 2-cycle gas units, just wanted an easier option when called for.

This is an excellent bundle for your yard work. Came with great instructions, battery, charger and all necessary parts. Very easy to put together and easier to use. The battery lasts a long time too. Weight and balance are ideal, I'm petite and handle both just fine. If you want a durable product you should get this!

I’ve used DEWALT construction tools corded & cordless for 30+yrs and never had any complaints at all. However this trimmer has flaws designed & built right into the machine. You can’t cut any tall grass at ground level and just lay it down without it wrapping around the shaft just above the spool for the string and you have to constantly stop and remove it or it puts a constant bind on the motor which will overheat the motor and reduce battery run time if it lasts long enough to run a battery down. If this wasn’t bad enough there’s more. The trimmer throws so much grass clippings at the user you’re covered from the bottom of your shorts to the top of your shoes and throwing all the clippings and debris everywhere also covers the air vents on top of the electric motor housing so the motor can’t even cool itself properly. My rechargeable toro trimmer lasted 25yrs without any of these issues except getting some clippings on the cooling vents but nothing like this DEWALT and brushing the housing for 10 seconds before I started each time was all it took but this DEWALT I don’t think you could clean it 5 times an hour and make it last. If I make it thru this one summer with this trimmer knowing it’s problems and I’m already doing more to try and get thru this year with this trimmer than I did to my toro in 25yrs. If I finish the year with this DEWALT I’ll be shocked & amazed and every time I’ve used it I want to run it over with my truck and get rid of it. I hope whoever designed this trimmer lost his or her job because it’s designed absolutely terrible.

The kit came with a weed eater and a blower. I unpacked the weed eater and used, much to my pleasure as it worked great. Once I had finished with the weed eater, I unpacked the blower and found it was missing the grey nozzle that was to come with it, but the real shock was the blower was actually a vacuum as it worked backwards.So, I returned the product and the seller is only going to give me 50% of what I paid (they call it a restocking fee, but we know what it really is). The should take the issue up with DeWalt and not me. How am I being held to ransome because of a manufacturers error? How do I know that the seller didn't tamper with the product before sending it to me?Word to the wise. DO NOT try to operate anything without first checking to see if everything's there and second, to make sure it works correctly before using it.You can decide if this seller is the one you want to pick..... :(

Sent this set to my mom. She already has the chainsaw and matching battery and charger and loves it. Problem is, the battery that came with this set won't fully charge, even after attempts at use and multiple attempts at charging.
