Some tough steel that Harbor Freight Tap couldn't even start in and this tap did a fine job in. AND since it included the letter drill it had more thread since with the HF tap I had used the closest larger fraction drill.

I ordered 2 drill and tap sets , drills worked great , but both taps broke in the hole I was tapping! Went and got a good tap from a tool store and I worked great . That tells me the De Walt taps are garbage .

The rap works fine, however, the bit gave up the ghost very quickly. I had to use another bit.
