One day I may get a substandard tool from DeWalt, but this ain’t one of those. Very happy. Small but powerful.

Okay, so I have many DeWalt tools, from chop saws to impact drivers, and I’m a big fan. And as expected, I do like this vacuum. But it’s far from perfect, and in my opinion, a little disappointing coming from what used to be such a stellar brand. I’ll list what I consider to be the pros, and then the negatives.*** The Good ***+ Excellent suction. The 4 HP motor creates far more suction than my ancient Rid&id 6 gal shop vac, which is 2.5 HP.+ Good carrying handle, which doubles as a cord storage area. Just wind the cord around the handle.+ Good latches. As long as you have the top rotated to one of the two possible positions, it locks like an alligator. It’ll lock anywhere, but if the latches don’t line up with the two bulged out places, it’ll come apart on you. (There's only one “correct†position.)+ Good hose connector to the main poly bottom, as well as the exhaust/blower. That latches in securely, and is easy to get out by pushing down a locking clip.+ Excellent caster wheels. The wheels are rubber instead of hard plastic, which makes it almost silent when rolling. The black caster assemblies can be slipped on and off, or you can lock them down with a single Phillips screw (included).+ Comes with all attachments and accessories. You get a floor tool, a smaller car vac tool, a crevice tool, a mesh bag, a paper vacuum bag, and you even get a DeWalt tool adapter to connect the hose to any DeWalt tool for suction.*** The Bad ***- It only comes with two short extensions for the floor tool. Together, they are only 33.5†long, and that’s not enough to keep an average-sized male from hunching over. I wish they were each another 6 inches longer.- The hose is as bad as most other shop vacs. And worse because it only swivels on the end that plugs into the vacuum; the user end does not swivel. It’s made of the same fairly hard plastic as other shop vacs.- There is zero accessory storage on the vac. Zero. Come on DeWalt, wake up.- There is no good way to store the hose. That silly rubber clip works for one section of hose, but where the hose lands when wrapped around the vac is nowhere near the end. Poorly designed there.- It’s a full 22†tall with the casters on it. That’s just about an inch and a half too tall to be able to store it where my old one lived. I know that’s a personal issue, but it’s annoying.- There’s no drain on it. You’ll have to remove the top and dump it. Not a big deal, but a plastic petcock costs about 20 cents, and would be very handy for liquids.*** Bottom Line ***This is a good shop vac, and worth the money, but it could be so much better. I hope this helps.

I've owned a lot of tools, road a lot of camels and ate a lot of baked beans - but I usually stayed away from the Yellows because they gave me gas. I do own the Yellow job site table saw – it is an excellent tool. I also owned the Yellow cold cut metal cutting chop saw – again – nice tool. I've now found a third Yellow tool that I'm not allergic to. This 6 Gallon Dewalt Shop Vac is an awesome vacuum – it's probably the best I've used at this size. The suction is incredible, the included hose is a high quality, sturdy flexible hose. There is a very thick rubber pull tie (I LiKe iT) that can be pulled over a hook and helps manage the extra long provided hose. The hose attaches to the vac with a well designed plastic clip that is easy to manipulate and makes rerouting the hose a simple task. The big yellow power paddle is conveniently place on the top front of the Vacuum – easy to reach, easy to see. Opening up to clean is a snap – good design - and they include a couple disposable bags in the kit to boot. I really like that I can use bags in this vacuum – they substantially cut down on rock dust and fine saw dust that, without bags, escapes and just needs to be cleaned up again. I like this vacuum, I'm really happy to have it. 7 Super Novas for The DEWALT 6 Gallon, 4HP Shop Vacuum ~ Thanks for Reading – Have an Incredible Life! ~

This vacuum has a strong suck. I have a hard time vacuuming any kind of loose rug because of the strong suck. It has lots of attachments and a bag to put them in. The instructions are clear and easy to understand and read. All the attachments connect well. I haven't used it as a wet vac yet, just a dry vac. I works great. Since it is a utility vacuum, it is fairly loud but I expected that. The power cord isn't particularly long but it works fine and you can always get an extension cord if needed. The hose is a good length, especially when combined with the wand pieces. I really like that this has vacuum bags to go with it. It only came with one but buying more isn't a problem and it has a large capacity. I'm really happy with this vacuum so far.
