Adapter is made with good tolerances, fit is excellent, connector is not too tight so I don't expect it to become loose. Cheap connectors will have really tight fit after first usage but will become loose really fast. Materials used seem to be good, not oxidation or flaking. I'm not sure if connectors are coated but there are no scratches after usage.Just in case, I'm not sure if connectors are suitable for permanent outdoors installation since I'm using it indoors.

When I was still working I has a guy 'modify' a allen head cap screw for me to come up with something like this, just dug those out and I was seeing a little rust on the 'cap'. I wanted something that was 'pretty' and made the way I think they all should have been made many years ago; but as we know, 'one size DOESN'T fit all'. Hear again I haven't used this yet but I am hoping for good results.Edit: November 30 2016Just an additional note, I finally got around to using one of these on my Yeasu FT2D hand held radio that I got (the adapter) September 27, 2016. While it does 'fit' there is one thing I did notice, with it screwed down, the flat part that should rest on the body of the radio, doesn't on my radio so if I was going to use it much I would want to get a small spacer of some kind so the adapter would be supported with the body of the radio. It does work, I am adding this note to anyone that might get this adapter, to be aware of this and take necessary steps so you aren't using a heavy antenna thinking it is firmly supported when it might not be.

These worked great to adapt the sms terminal on a new handheld to use my older bnc antennas. The wide base seems to take the strain off of the sms connection by spreading it out

Bought this to use a diamond antenna I was given on my baofeng UV-5G radio and it works perfectly, connection is tight, but not too tight to where I can’t get the antenna off.

I got these specifically to add a BNC connector to my MD-380/UV-380 HT as to not damage the antenna connector when I take the antenna off for transport in my suitcase/overnight bag/glove box, etc. If you swap them on and off and other antennas, these keep you from damaging the SMA connectors. One of the first things I do is install a BNC connector when I get a new HT. I recommend this to anyone. This particular connector does not fit Baofeng DM-1801 or the UV-5R Radios, there are others that do fit those.

I told my Aunt Mable it was too big for my icom id-52A. I was wrong. It fits perfectly and becomes stronger and harder with a longer antenna. We thank the sweet tiny wee infant baby jesus that we have finally found our nuts.
