How to Finish the initialization

We have to finish the initialization setup by the following 2 steps:

1st we have to check the detailed room temperature and diamond size,find the Initial value of our test.you can find the detailed table on the back of the diamond tester pen.

2nd we have to turn the wheel to set the Initial value.

eg if the size of diamond is small than 0.05ct, and the temperature is more than 30 degrees Celsius,then set the Initial value as 7, it means you have to turn the weel and keep 7 lights on. Otherwise you won't get a acuracy result.

INSERT THE BATTERY CORRECTLY

  1. Put the 9V battery in. (included).
  2. Make sure only 1 light is lighting up on the scale.
  3. Wait few seconds for the probe to heat up until Lamp on ready OK
  4. A new battery can just last for about an hour

FINISH THE INITIALIZATION

  1. CONFIRM THE INITIAL VALUE BY CHECKING THE TABLE ON BACK OF THE TEST PEN PEN
  2. THE INITIAL VALUE DEPENDS ON BOTH TEMPERATURE AND SIZE OF DIAMOND
  3. TURN THE WHEEL TO SET THE INITIAL VALUE.Eg: If the initial value is 5, then keep 5 lights on before test.

90-degree contact

  1. Use the diamond discriminator probe to make 90-degree contact with the measured object, and observe the indicator light change.
  2. It needs a little bit of force to stop it on the diamond surface and make full contact
  3. If unsuccessful, please repeat the second step

Troubleshooting and solutions

1. Power On Failure

Ensure proper installation of the 9V battery with attention to the correct polarity and turn the knob to power on. If the power indicator light does not illuminate, it indicates a lack of power connection and suggests replacing the battery. (Note: This device consumes a considerable amount of power. A new battery provides approximately 1 hour of normal operation, so remember to turn off the device when not in use promptly)

2. Beeping Upon Startup

A beeping sound upon powering on signifies the need for initialization settings. Consult the table on the rear of the machine for the specific initialization settings considering the diamond's temperature and size. Adjust the initial number of illuminated lights by rotating the knob

3. Weak or No Sound from Test Pen

Ensure correct installation and adequate power in the test pen battery. Also, clean the test pen probe as maintaining its cleanliness can enhance testing efficacy

4. High-Frequency Sound when Testing Metal

The high-frequency sound during metal testing is due to the test pen's operational principle, which relies on thermal conductivity to distinguish between diamonds and fake gemstones. Since metal possesses thermal conductivity similar to diamonds, it generates a high-frequency sound during testing.

5. Compatibility with Gemstone Testing While the test pen primarily distinguishes between diamonds and fake gemstones, it may not effectively test other gemstone varieties. For accurate testing of different types of gemstones, it is advisable to seek confirmation from a professional gemstone identification institution.

Precautions

  1. The battery temperature is lower than 10 degrees Celsius, which seriously affects the use time

You do not have to be a jeweler to know how to use this. Very easy to use. Just read instructions. I was surprised at the quality and value of the items. I bought mine after I had my ring resized. My diamonds looked so clean the I swore they switched them. LOL they definitely didn't. They just needed s good cleaning. I used this on all my jewelry and it works great!

Bought this at a great price, it was a little complicated to use. I tested various real and fake stones and it would always give me a different reading every time so its performance was a little confusing. Landed up buying a different one.

It works, but sometimes the lights aren’t lighting up on the side Is sometimes the beeping won’t stop even after I’ve put it away from the stone And I end up having to reset the machine It feels durable. It doesn’t feel like it’ll break very easily. And it seems accurate when it wants to work it’s not really hard to use . It’s one of those you get what you pay for and it’s not bad for its Price

Used it twice and it died. Yes, I replaced it with a new battery & it's useless. Of course, found this out right after the window to return closed. Honestly, I know it read accurate for 2 uses but only for clear stones. So my star rating are based on those 2 times.
