With all the drills and fasteners in my workshop, I always seem to be grabbing the wrong size. Using trial and error, I sometimes go back and forth between the project and the tool box a half dozen times. You'd think I'd learn a lesson. Well I did. My grandfather always had a machinist's scale in his shop coat pocket. i have yet to start wearing shop coats and pocket protectors. I like to keep my high quality measuring tools clean and organized, so my scales, dial calipers and mics aren't near and handy to my regular mechanics tools. Hence why this composite caliper works so well. It is inexpensive and doesn't look like NASA M&TE. I can leave it sitting on a workbench or in a tool roll without getting the feeling that the 8 generations of grandfathers before me are rolling over in their graves.A quick check against other calipers says this set is accurate enough for sizing a drill bit or wrench. The composite construction takes away worries about surface rust if I leave it out in the humidity. It has a thumb slide instead of a thumb wheel and doesn't have a lock. But hey, I've got the fancy tools if I need to measure something that close.Last night I needed to drill out a rivet, and got the right size bit the first time. Win!

I have owned this caliper for just over 3 years. I have used it many times and find it a very useful tool! Minor flaws: I thought that the electronic LCD display had partially failed making it difficult to interpret the reading is on display. This problem was remedied by putting in a new battery (there is no low battery warning). FYI there is also a physical display that can be used. Another minor complaint I have is with the battery cover. I find that when using the caliper I often inadvertently pull the battery cover off which results in dumping the battery out and shutting off the display. I have tried to solve this problem by putting tape over the battery compartment cover. In photo note partial display (means low battery). Also note tape over battery compartment cover.

I have a FIRST robotics team operating out of my home workshop. They have a lot of trouble learning a traditional caliper so I got one of these. It seems to be durable enough and if it gets broken I won't shed any tears over it. This was a good choice for this application. It seems to be pretty accurate and the ability to switch between english and metric is nice.

A decent digitized ruler (resolution) rather than an inexpensive caliper. Nothing hidden, the description and pictures show and tell all in the feature set. The main issue for me, a resolution of .01 of an inch. That is quite a range you can get more accurate reading with a steel rule as unlike a rule you have no optical way to see if it is + or - that .01".Like a normal caliper it does offer 4 way measurement, so if your requirements are typically +/- a 1/64 (.015) this should be a very good solution. If however you need to sort out machine parts say metric screws mixed with US standard this simply isn't much help. The plastic used seems to be a tough ballistic type as claimed, also very light.A handy device if you need quick measurements in its resolution envelope.

The "Carbon Fiber Composite" that is advertised feels like plastic, when you turn it off and accidentally pull/push on it it'll turn back on and makes it worse that it doesn't come with a case to prevent that from happening so overall you pay for what you get so I cant give a bad star rating for something so cheap

Sturdy enough for occasional garage projects, but best used inside the house for more delicate work. This is my second caliper...the first one still measures accurately, but the mm/inch button stopped working, so it only displays in inches now. For the price, it does an excellent job.

If you want cheap, digital calipers, that are accurate, buy these.I've been using them for a while now, and they seem to be pretty good. They are good enough for hobby and just general measurements. You won't get super precise or anything, but they do what they say. They are consistent and cheap. Even comes with an extra battery.

I’ve used this digital calliper for various small projects, and it gives me accurate results every time. Perfect for my diy projects and it is available in metric and imperial units which is very nice! It turns off when you don’t use it so it conserves its battery life. Lightweight and the quality is good for its price. Good investment ðŸ‘ðŸ¼

As a dedicated crafter and small business owner, precision is key in all my projects. Recently, I added the FineSource Electronic Digital Caliper to my arsenal, and let me tell you, it's been a game-changer.Firstly, let's talk about its design. The sleek black finish gives it a professional look, and the carbon fiber material not only makes it durable but also incredibly lightweight. This makes handling and maneuvering it a breeze, especially when working on delicate projects. But what truly sets it apart is its accuracy. With its inch/metric conversion feature and a measuring range of 0-6 inches (150 mm), this caliper ensures precise measurements every time. Whether I'm working with wood, metal, or fabric, I can trust that my measurements will be spot-on, allowing for seamless crafting and flawless results. The extra-large LCD screen is another standout feature. It provides clear and easy-to-read measurements, even in low-light conditions. Plus, with the auto-off function, I never have to worry about draining the battery, making it energy-efficient and convenient to use.In terms of versatility, the FineSource Digital Caliper is unmatched. From measuring thickness and depth to inside and outside dimensions, it covers all my crafting needs with ease. Whether I'm quilting, jewelry-making, or woodworking, this caliper is a versatile tool that I can rely on for accurate measurements every time.Overall, I am thrilled with the FineSource Electronic Digital Caliper. This unit is pretty nice and accurate, it feels like cheaply made in your hand, but it does the job accurately, it has a simple function that is the only thing you really need from a caliper, compared to the other higher end calipers this unit was extremely accurate and easy to use, it has an auto shut off feature, which is nice to save the battery, there is really nothing wrong to say about this unit other than it feels cheap and plastic, which feels like very fragile, but it seems OK to use, if you are planning on using this unit in the field I would highly recommend spending more money and get more sturdy one, if you’re using on your workbench, it wouldn’t be bad purchase for sure.

Accurate and works well for DIY jobs around the house. Really useful when doing small construction and mechanical jobs to measure the smallest distance for precision in your work. You can get any since they all do the same job but this is a good price so id stick with a basic one like this
