When I received it I could not believe how small it was, except for the hardware enclosed! This scale is made and designed to weight heavy things. I turned it on and it did what it was designed to do. Weighs small things and large things really fast, easy to set up, well made at a great price! I'm impressed!

I picked this up because I wanted to have a better idea of how much the wild game I had harvested weighed. It's super-easy to set up and all you'd need to remember is entering a "tare" weight for the rope, or block and tackle that you're using to attach to your wild game. Again, this thing can be used for mostly anything that weighs up to around 700 pounds. Good scale, easy to set up, and easy to use.

This "crane scale" is designed to be hung from an overhead support, and will weigh loads attached to its lower eye. A very heavy-duty stainless steel carabiner is supplied to connect it to a crane, a rafter, or some other overhead support, and there's a good strong "S" hook to attach the load to be weighed. This entire item seems to be very strongly made, and should be quite durable--though the instructions tell you it is "a precision instrument and should be handled with extreme care."It's available in four different maximum capacities (mine is the biggest, for up to 300kg./600 lb. loads). The four-digit readout can be set to display pounds or kilograms (or Newtons, if you're into that sort of thing...), and resolves weights in increments of .25 lb. or 0.1 kg. A "Tare" button enables you to zero out the scale with the load bucket or other carrier attached--the scale with then display the weight of anything added to the bucket.It uses 3 "AA" cells, and although it comes with a set marked "Super Heavy Duty" (but of unspecified chemistry), I'd be wary of the possibility of them leaking if left in the scale for any significant length of time. The "AA" cells are a rather tight fit inside the scale, though that shouldn't pose any real problem. (Because of the likelihood of damage due to leakage, it's always best to remove batteries from any electronic devices that might not be used for the next several days or longer.)The scale has a convenient backlight (which can be shut off if you prefer). The little "User Manual" that comes with it is rather poorly written, but you shouldn't have any trouble understanding out how to use the scale's basic features.

I have not fully eval'd this scale, but so far seems pretty good, with one exception.. the AA battery slot absolutely would not allow a full size Energizer AA to fit in. It comes with super cheap chinese plain carbon-zinc batteries, which are undoubtedly at the bottom end of the 'max length for AA' spec, and about a mm shorter..they juuuust barely fit in. I think I can trim the springs a bit when the cheap batteries run out to rectify this, but you'd think that the designer would allow for the longest max length spec'd size AA. Other than that, the accuracy matched my calibrated work scale exactly at the low weight of 13lbs.. hoping it remains close up to a few hundred lbs. THe LCD display looks clear, but if your eyes are looking down on it, it disappears. I'm guessing they figured the end user would typically have the display above or even with their eyes.. which works fine. The carbiner and hook look very robust and the body is metal. Note that a load cell should never be shocked with a sudden jarring load near max limit.. it will be distorted. I'll keep this unit. For the money, it's fine.

I like this scale, I use it to weight the hay for my horses. Numbers are large, easy to use. Good sturdy hooks to hang from ceiling and weight hay.

I've used this scale to weigh stones for strongman training for around a year now. It's rugged and does the job for the right price. The only problem for this purpose is that it doesn't record the weight after you set it down, so you have to have a helper or film the process. Still, can't complain for the price.
