Kindly tips:
1. This thermometer cannot pass the glass test target the temperature of the object. In addition, steam, dust and smoke can reduce the accuracy of detection.
2. For more accurate measurement, please cover the surface with masking tape or black flat paint.
3. Since this thermometer detects the surface temperature of products and items by infrared rays, please do not directly irradiate your eyes.
4.D : S= 12 : 1, means the Distance to the Spot Size of the unit is 12 : 1. As the Distance(D) from the target surface increases, the spot size of the area measured(S) by the unit becomes larger. So in order to get more accurate temperature, please pay attention to the Distance to Spot Size, or it will get some error if you neglect this.
5.thermometer collects the infrared radiation energy from surface of the stuff that is focused by red laser, and transfer this information into electric signal via photodetector, then analyze and calculate its temperature. So please keep in mind that what you get is the surface temperature not inside temperature.

I am disappointed in & annoyed with this product! I needed it for a project and the temperature readings are all wrong! They are way too low. I even tried it on myself & it was way low unless you are about to go into shock or hypothermia.

I bought this to check the temp in my new pizza oven. It is quick, accurate, and certainly easy to use. Only problem was grandkids thought it was fun to check the temp on everything in sight. I may have to order another one and write my name and "HANDS OFF" on it!

I was looking for a temp guage to monitor my bbq smokes and this fits the bill perfectly. Great budget friendly product that works great. I have fun with my cat and dog chasing the laser as well,lol.
