I originally ordered this meter to use in my product photography studio to figure out where the hot spots of my lighting was. When I got it however, my first test was on some new headlights in my truck to see if they were really a 600% brighter bulb like the description claims. Turns out, they're only 100% brighter, but I'd have never known without this meter. What made it especially useful in that situation was the built in thermometer so you can make sure you're testing at about the same temperature as this can have an effect on some lights.What I noticed during that test is how sensitive this unit is. A one inch move can make a huge difference in the reading despite the light looking the same to your eye. This really helped me hone in on where the brightest part of the headlight pattern was so I could ensure I had them leveled correctly and wouldn't be blinding oncoming drivers.The unit itself is well built and solid in the hand. I like the built in sensor cover that's on a tether - a godsend for forgetful minds like me! It also came with batteries, so I was up and running in a matter of minutes.I thought this was going to be a super specialized tool that I'd use maybe a few times overall, but that's not proven to be the case. Now that I have it, I don't know how I did some tasks without it. My product photos take so much less post processing now all because my lighting is on point for any product I'm shooting! If you're on the fence, just get it, you'll like how sensitive it is and how well you can dial in your lighting.
