I got it to test the noise level of the A/C unit in our camper for the purpose of comparing the noise level of the A/C unit with a newer model/brand. It is 10 years old. It seems the units is no louder than the newer ones. The meter worked as expected

Exactly what I wanted and a good value. As long as you don't need studio perfection, this is ample for gauging audio noise.

Works as advertised. Would be nice if certification credentials were included as I am using device to upgrade my neighborhood against local road noise, I'm sure city will require certs. The price is phenomenal, easy to handle and put in pocket.

I use this product as a tool to make sure my band is playing at safe volumes. It can be frustrating when some random person says "you're too loud" (that same person also usually chooses to sit as close to the band as possible...) So having this as a safety measure and a reference that we are infact, at a safe volume for our patrons and bar staff, is a great reassurance. I'm a poor judge of volume, as anything above 60db hurts my ears immensely, so this tool reassures me that we are loud enough, but not too loud. We're not a world famous rock band playing a stadium (~120db), we're playing bars where anything over 95 is overkill.

I purchased this in the spring, and had a fun time with it for a while. A few months later, I noticed that the batteries were low (the unit was having trouble powering on, and the battery level was low). I put in new batteries; it still had trouble turning on, and the battery level showed low again. I continued to have trouble with getting it to turn on. I just pulled it out again, and it would not power on at all. I ditched those batteries (I supposed one may have been defective), but in new batteries, but it still won't power on. An utter waste of money for a tool that should have lasted for years.

Very easy to use, and accurate. The microphone foam diffuser/cover is nice and removable. The display is large, easy to read, and has 2 different backlight settings which make it easy to read no matter how dim or bright your room is. I only wish it came with some sort of case, like a drawstring pouch or semi-rigid case. The best would be something that would prevent accidental button presses when stored. But that's not a problem and for the price, not expected.If you need a sound meter, this one is great!

Used to test level of portable A/C. The A/C definitely was way louder than the db in the description so this little unit did what I wanted it to do.

First this is not a device i will use a lot of times, i only need it for a few occasions . Thats why i didnt want to spend alot of money on a sound level meter . So for me quality of build was not a big consideration. I just needed something to give me a ball park reading of sound levels once and a while and this inexpensive unit fits that bill perfectly ...its a great inexpensive way to occasionally measure and give you good readings of sound or noise levels.. it works and im happy with it ,, i found no negative issues so far....cheers from Canada.
