Given my previous luck with using an inexpensive DAC for my Smart TV, this one is good. It sounds surprisingly decent given its cost and the remote is a welcome change from alts that I have bought in the past. It has a mute button for the commercial crappola and the Toslink feed sounds better than its modest price.The Toslink works quite well while the HDMI is feeding my soundbar. That way all I do is turn down the soundbar to 0 and turn on this little DAC and grab my headphones. It has good audio with decent volume control. Now the HDMI cable can deliver a higher level of audio, but I really do not need that. I have a 1k DAC for my separate music needs and when watching TV I personally do not focus on the audio. This little guy delivers the goods. I hope I get a couple of years from it. One last minor point: The type on the top is at least small, unobtrusive and in gray. In other words, low key, not the typical visually vulgar and clumsy that is too often the case.

This works wonderfully to add a volume control to my "NOT SMART TV". The output for most newer TVs is NO LONGER a headphone output. I use an amplified set of speakers to give my TV a much better sound than the built-in speakers can provide. This provides the "Volume Control", as the "Line Out" signal is NOT controlled as a headphone output would be.

I bought this converter since it had a remote that could control volume. The remote works great if you are 4 feet away or closer - rendering it almost completely useless - who uses a remote closer than 4 feet to a device? This pretty much negates the following good points: It does convert an optical signal to analog flawlessly. I like that it is powered by USB. I just wish the remote actually worked...

I used this unit to add remote headphones to an old Samsung TV (via a 25' Toslink cable). Headphone volume control is excellent and 100% independent of the TV speaker volume. While everything worked fine when using the TV and Cable Box, there were some instances when I couldn't get sound from some (.mkv, .mp4) videos when playing them off a usb stick via the built in Samsung TV media/video player. However, it turned out to be a problem with the TV. When using a TIVO or old WD Media Player everything worked exactly as it should. A great product.

I needed remote volume control for my receiver. Which it does. It does the job. My complaints are that if you power it of and on again the volume defaults to the loudest setting. The other complaint is the remote doesn't have a code for a universal remote. Yes you can use a learning remote but good luck finding a decent one for cheap these days.Minor inconveniences aside it does what I needed it to.

It has 2 inputs, One for Coax and one for Toslink, selectable, using the remote witch I love. The remote also has on and off buttons, lets you adjust the volume, and has a mute button.It has RCA type output jacks, L and R . It works great and for me well worth the price. This is exactly what I wanted.

I purchased this unit to take its input from the Toslink output of my TV, to feed my Bluetooth hearing aid TV transmitter. This allows me to have control over the volume and a mute button, that is dedicated to my hearing aids, while letting others who may be watching the same TV, have their own volume control. The sound quality is excellent and is much improved over the analog headphone output that I used to use on my TV. And by plugging this unit's USB power cable directly into the TV, the unit powers on and off with the TV.

Product installed easily and works well with the Logitech speakers I hooked it up to. Sound is good for computer speakers. Unit does what it says it can do. Remote works well with the unit except I found the volume jumps up and down a little too much with each push of the buttons. Package was missing wall charger. Supplier gave me a credit for the missing piece. Overall I'm happy with it.

The volume/mute control on the remote of our Samsung 46 inch TV did not work once the "External Speaker" option was chosen.(The internal speakers were terrible with virtually no bass). The digital (Toslink) output on the TV was connected to the optical input of this dac and the analogue output of it was connected to an external computer speaker system with a subwoofer.Now the sound from the TV via the external computer speaker system sounds great and can be adjusted or muted with the included remote. Problem solved without having to buy an expensive soundbar.

Il y a beaucoup trop d'interférences sur ce petit appareil ! De plus, elle ne prend pas en charge les son dolby et surround. La manette de manoeuvre est mal conçue, soit facile à échapper par terre. De plus les boutons de sons, sont trop rapprochée sur cette petite manette ! La conception doit être revue, mais le prix n'est pas élevé ! Un système pour gérer le son devrait toujours être de bon calibre ! Aussi le son monte trop rapidement, et baisse trop rapidement également. Donc pas facile à gérer.
