It will become hot when it works because there are so many coils inside. It’s normal and safe phenomenon. The highest working temperature of this product reaches 60℃, and the plastic part withstand extremely high temperatures to 150℃.

I have many of these used on a ro unit all NC I have on NO but changed used case for that one.I have one that connects to the out put of the RO unit This is typically at around 50PSI and is used to flush the ro system.I have one connected to the water feed line this is around 60psi this is used to flush the feed so the system can be depresurized and drained.I have one connected to the RO stroage tank this one is at beween 30-55psi depending on volume in the tank. I use this one to drain the tank.I lastly have one used as by pass on the waste outflow restrictor to flush the ro membraine.Thus far 6months, no leaks BUT I DON'T engergize often and when I do never longer than 60 seconds most often in the order of milli seconds.I typically once every 3 months I perform a flush of the the ro system, drain tank, flush memrane, then flush all tubing. This take no longer than 60 seconds max.I had ZERO faith and still have ZERO faith using this for critical flow, I used full motorized ball valved to control the main water line shutoff, and I also for the tank flow. Mainly because I want to be able to in emergance or service leave the feed shut off indefinatly and this wouldn't be safe with these.

When they say “normally openâ€, I guess they mean normally partially open. I needed to use this as a bypass valve, not a shutoff valve. As a bypass valve, the water line is gravity fed. It is normally open, but only partially. About half of my flow gets bypassed and the other half goes where it should only go when the valve is closed. So be careful of your application. As a shutoff valve, it probably works great. But don’t buy it as a bypass valve, especially as a gravity fed bypass valve.

Doesn't perform anywhere near what's advertised. Don't waste your money on this, it can't open under normal water pressure. When I bought this, the seller claimed it would work up to 114psi (0.8MPa), but it now claims to work up to 0.7psi (0.005MPa). Don't trust this seller if they update the description to work at useful pressures.

I bought the wrong valve. I should have paid better attention. This valve works fine at low pressures, but fails to function properly if you turn it off and pressure develops behind the valve. Just the design, not defective.

I purchased this valve for the purposes of keeping a water cooler / ice maker tank full with water that is coming from a reverse osmosis filtration system. While the relay / valve does sound like it is switching on and off with the presence and absence of 12 volts, it however does NOT actually close the valve most of the time when the power is removed, resulting in the water running through and overflowing my cooler's water tank! Yikes! You'd think if anything it would be closed by default. Nope! Beware of this behavior if your source water pressure is very low! With a higher pressure water source it appears to work more reliability, but I would certainly not trust it unattended.

Worked as described but does get very hot.Make sure you have the right voltage and install with correct flow direction.Wish it had different mounting options since I needed a top mount. An optional mounting bracket would have been great.4 stars for now since I only have it for 7 days. Will update later for its reliability.Update: Leaking already so it doesn’t last. Getting another one from different vendor/manufacturer. I was correct in worrying about it being very hot just like the another customer reported. JUNK. 1 star

Not even close to 100% shut off in either direction. Works as described, if you dont mind potential siphoning or backflow. Simple push to connect.

Does not work with any pressure behind it. Can audibly tell valve is moving with no pressure on and confirmed by blowing through line. Purchased in November ‘20 and description and product are labeled for 0-0.8MPa (0-116PSI). Now listed as 0.005MPa, whaaaat!!!?!?! 0.7PSI!!! That can’t be real. Feels like good quality, but I must say, DO NOT BUY.
