lots of pros with this life jacket: first and foremost it floats really well. I tested it with some heavy rocks and it buoyed them very well. Second, I love the orange color, I feel that it lets me see my dog very well. Third it's so helpful that it has both velcro and clips. Fourth it's comfortable for my dog and allows for full range of motion. And fifth -and this is very important- the handle is sewn on very well. My dog weighs over 50 pounds and I can use the handle to pick him all the way up, even on dry landcons: the straps for the buckles are too long, they practically drag on the ground for my dog

So, at first I was a bit skeptical about getting this because I was not sure what size I was going to need for my dog that is a Bichon Maltese mix. Weighing 5.5lbs. Ended up getting him an extra small after measuring him and weighing him and it fit pretty perfectly. The only downfall is it doesn't have enough flotation material in it to keep them buoyant for very long. He did happen to jump out of the kayak once so it was tested. Would not buy if you do not plan on supervising your animal very closely and keeping them nearby if they have swimming issues.

Bought a small for my 10lb dog, had to perform cpr on my dog after the life vest failed. Do not buy. Will never buy a “cheaper†life vest again.
