I like the fact that this is a set of two. It's nice to have an extra in case one gets lost. However, I do wish there had been some sort of instructions with them. It says they are adjustable, but doesn't explain how to adjust them. (If there were any instructions included, I must have overlooked them.)When I blow into them, they make a whistling sound- they are not the "silent" type of dog whistle, I guess. It does get the dogs attention, but I am not sure what is an appropriate use for them outside of blowing when the dogs bark. I think they could be used for other purposes, but without any instructions, I am a bit hesitant. I don't want to hurt their ears by blowing too long or too loud.

First of all the frequency is not high enough for me to "not hear" it. I still hear a high pitched whine that gets louder with more force. Second, it doesn't stop dogs from barking just like that. It's just a noise like any other noise to them and they need to be trained to understand what this noise means. Which means If you want to recall you have to do recall training. if you want them to stop barking you have to train them to stop barking when they hear this noise or any other trigger. You can't just blow this whistle at any random dog on the street that's barking at you and expect anything to happen.Functionally they work, just two whistles.
