I don't like this for planting bulbs. There's no depth control, and the way the soil comes out you have to bend down to refill the holes. It makes a bit of a large hole for lawn aeration, so I don't like it for that, either. It's good if you need to make some sod plugs to fill in a bare spot in your yard, but grass seed is still easier. It is sharp and it works as described, though.

Very well made and highly-usable garden tool.This tool is well made. A unique and very usable design, with a high-quality finish, good thick metal, excellent weld quality, perfect fit, and easy assembly with included tools.This tool includes high-quality rubber grips which aid greatly during prolonged planting. Having used an old-fashioned Zoysia grass plugger for years, I have to say that compared to the older designs, this one is much more comfortable to use with it's larger handles, larger and wider foot press, and best of all: there is no funky plunger to get messed up! The only caveat: The first plug will not come out until you do the second plug. And then, the very last plug, you have to press out with your hand. But that's no big deal at all. It just works great!Note also that it comes extremely well packaged, and again, it even includes usable tools. This is a solid 5 star item.

Sometimes I don't really care for ordering garden equipment online because I can't feel if it's going to be a good quality or not. However, let me set your mind at ease with this one. The pieces are really heavy--but the finish is nice, and the edges have been smoothed. To me, that's the sign of a company that's doing more than just punching out a piece of equipment. They're actually taking the time to design a piece that they take pride in. This comes with 2 little tools--an Allen wrench with a screwdriver tip & another thing that I don't know what it's called, but it fits over the top of the screw. I definitely couldn't tighten the screws down all the way with just my fingers, but using each tool on either end of the screw allowed me to crank them in opposite directions to get the screws tightened down. Now this tool is put together & ready for our ground to dry out a bit (we've gotten 8"+ of rain in the past week, so the yard is still rather soggy) so I can test it out. However, just judging by the construction of it, the care in the details of even how the screws/nuts & bolts were packaged, and my handling of it after assembling, I can already tell it's a quality piece of equipment. If something changes, though, in my opinion of it once I'm able to test it out, I'll come back & report. If you don't see an update, you can rest assured that this item turned out to be as good as I was expecting it to be. Definitely recommending this!
