I bought this Dolphin Gauges Pulse Generator for a totally custom build.I am using it for VSS (vehicle speed sensor) to a Megasquirt MS3X ECU.With additional circuitry it works very well.I am knocking off 1 star because I had to add circuitry to create a digital square wave signal. The product description says "Converts mechanical speed signal into a digital square wave signal"The actual output of the sender is an AC signal that increases in frequency and amplitude with speed similar to a VR sensor and toothed wheel.Since I am already using both zero crossing conditioner circuits in the MS3X for crank and cam signals so I needed a square wave input.I had a sirhclabs MAX9924 conditioner board that works in A2 operating mode handy from a past project.Feeding the output of the pulse generator into it and using MS3X 5Vref to the board gives a nice 0-5V square wave out to the MS3X even at very slow rotation.Edit: Added pictures of the output of the generator (blue trace) and after conditioner board (yellow trace) at the slowest and fastest speed my hand drill would go when I was testing.

I bought this generator for a 37 Chevy project hot rod I'm building. The car has a turbo 350 transmission. So when you screw the generator onto the speedo drive to the last thread it's still loose. The nut that holds it on to the speedo drive is too deep. The fix is find a washer that fits into the hollow of the generator nut. The looseness is the thickness of a washer. Drop the washer into the bottom of the nut and tighten it up...YOUR good to go.It's a toss between 4 stars and 5. Because It fits but not really I gave it a 4

Wouldn’t seal on a TH350 transmission. I had to add O rings so the transmission fluid wouldn’t leak.
