Update Mar 31, 2023:I still like the lock and the remote fob is nice. I generally only use it every other day, and not daily. I am finding out that the battery is already going out. It is intermittent at times, and then noticed the light on the fob... or lack of, which kept me from making entry. Basically the battery is going dead. My only thought is these batteries in the unit must have been sitting for years before being installed/used.Batt suppose to be good for 5 years, and it is a custom battery .... 27 amps @ like 12vdc or something. I have had this item for just over 2-1/2 months and the remote battery is dying. Now I have to buy a new pack of batteries. Not too expensive... going to cost me another $12 or $13 bucks, but should not have to replace the remote battery this soon. Disappointed. Aside from that, lock works wells.****************I have only benched tested and not put on door yet. I wanted to make sure all is well with it before installing. Instructions are "ok", could be refined a bit better, especially about the programming via a cell phone (if you want to use an app), but for me, the remotes alone are fine.... all 5 of them.The case is strong steel, consideration was given in the event of an emergency to open the door lock from outside as described in the pamphlet, should you lose your remotes and have no other access. Since I am using this on my garage door for extra protection I am not worried.The device is pre-programmed with the remotes and ready to use out of the box which is nice. I would suggest using high-end batteries (4 AA). Current use is apparently small so the batteries should last. The 2 round locking bars are nice and a good size diameter.Once I install I can update... but for the moment, it is worth the money.Update: Jan 16, 2023Very happy with this item. Easy install and works well. I put good batteries into the device, but do not know how long the will last - how many months, but will rotate them just to be safe. Feel better with this dead bolt. Metal is really durable and so much better than my dead-bolt (but using both this lock and my original dead-bolt). This lock also has a manual open/close feature, so do not worry as you can still operate the lock in an emergency or if you lost your remote.

I love this thing at the house I was at I had a sneaky landlord that always came in when you weren't home so this worked wonderful to keep her out when she was not supposed to be in I do recommend this product that worked wonderful for me

After watching too many Lock-picking Lawyer videos on YouTube, I have concluded that my Schlage locks would barely slow down a thief with tools. I added this to my storm door as a kind of mysterious barrier to potential lock pickers.A determined thief could pry the storm door off of its hinges but maybe this is annoying enough to send them elsewhere. The lock seems a little sluggish in below freezing weather but has not failed. I drilled holes directly into my metal door frame for the deadbolts. The lock's piezo motor does not have much torque, so I need to ensure that the bolts do not rub against the frame or they can fail to extend/retract.
