My Ram 2500 was not going into 4WD. After testing various parts of the system I concluded that the actuator had a hole in the diaphragm. Installation is harder than I expected, but pretty straight forward. Some of the parts fit very tight. Don't let that scare you. Going on a year and it is still working perfectly.

I installed this on my 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 four wheel drive front actuator which rusted out. Works perfectly. Discontinued from dealers. Have to buy Dorman.

The actuator was easy to install. The most difficult part was getting the old 1/4 inch bolts out of the axle housing, otherwise the install was pretty easy.

It failed after 4 years and 5K miles (I don't put a lot of miles on the truck). An internal seal had failed and the vacuum chamber filled with gear oil so it was hydro-locked. I replaced it with a Crown Automotive with the hope that it lasts. It was good to have the circlips. The plastic wear parts for the shift forks were too narrow to fit (the coresponding Crown parts fit correctly).

Was doing a frame swap and when I removed the axles I had to unhook the vacuum lines from the actuator... I'm sure you wont be surprised when I tell you the metal nipples fell right off the thing.this was a direct fit replacement, was able to swap it out in less than an hours time and was 4x4'ing again in no timeApplication 97 Dodge Ram 1500 318 4X4

1999 Dodge 2500 DieselProduct seems okay. There is 1 machining error where an o-ring sits and Im hoping it holds its seal. Fitment is good on a dana 60. Hopefully it lasts

Put it on a 2001 Dodge 2500 Diesel truck and it was a easy install and everything comes in the kit.
