Good fit and works well. If your bulb isn't fitting tightly: make sure your lights are off, remove bulb, pull the metal tabs in the bottom up towards the opening to adjust the fit and tightness of the bulb

Bulb fits loosely into socket and the contacts are unable to hold the lamp with enough tension to be reliable as a working part of the electrical system. Yes I have bent the contacts to hold the lamp in the socket and the lights don't work and the contacts have lost all tension by the time I drive around the block. I am VERY disappointed in the quality of this Dorman part.

Replaced original on 2002 VW Beetle that was falling apart due to age and the bulb not fitting anymore.
Completely satisfied

The harness end fits fine. The bulb socket end does not fit stock lights. Slightly too big so bulbs are loose and easily fall out. So unless you somehow find slightly oversized bulbs you’re wasting your money.

Perfect! I had a weird tail light issue on my 2000 VW Beetle; if the headlights were on, and I pressed the brakes, all the lights on the left side of my car went out. We eventually traced it back to the socket (which was scorched from shorting out the bulb - like scorched and melted).Bought this as a replacement, installed it myself (only took a few minutes) and my lights are back to working perfectly!

I've been increasingly disappointed with Dorman parts, but this recent experience takes the cake. It's alarming how their quality has plummeted. I mean, we're talking about a simple lamp holder, made 98% of plastic. But the 2% that really mattered? A laughable failure. The metal contacts in this part are supposed to be spring steel. Instead, they seem to be tin or some equally flimsy material. When you push the 1157 bulb into the holder, the so-called metal springs just bend and stay bent. They don't spring back, making the part essentially useless. This is beyond frustrating—it's dangerous. Dorman has fallen so far that they can't even manufacture a basic socket anymore. Had I looked a bit harder on Amazon, I would have found OEM sockets for just a bit more money, and avoided this mess altogether. To sum it up, this part is not only poorly designed but also a potential safety hazard. Steer clear of Dorman parts; I certainly will from now on. Save yourself the headache and the risk.

Socket is way too loose to hold bulb firmly. You have to either pry the ground out tighter, or shim bulb ground.

Bulbs fit very loose. Have to shim them to get them to stay in and work.
