Back in April, I had to replace the light bulb on my 2008 Tango Red Pearl Honda Civic Sedan LX in the center high mount stop light (aka 'third brake light'), so I purchased the 50 LED RED 7443 7443CK 7440 from VLEDS for $46 (item $40 + USPS shipping and insurance $6). After I removed the original socket that I had to use a pair of pliers to turn it counterclockwise, the bulb would not fit the socket due to some of the metal prongs being bent inside it, and it caused it to break too. I tried ordering the part from a local Honda dealership that did not have the item in stock, although they gave me a list of three different part numbers and other dealerships that would have them, I believe were all incorrect, because none of them looked exactly like the part that I was trying to replace. When I found this part on Amazon looking exactly like the part that had broke, I ordered it with express shipping without hesitation. When I received the part the very next day, I was not only surprised that the part fit the light bulb, but that I could put it back in and take it back out without having the need to use a pair of pliers. If I need to replace the exact same type of socket anywhere else on my car, then I will definitely reorder this part again.

These type of connectors get brittle with age. They can take some effort to get out, so it's not hard to end up with a crack of a chuck falling out. If you're lucky, the socket still functions, but then you're left to worry if the bulb will work its way loose. This was a no-brainer, and easy to install for my center brake light.If you're fretting over whether it will fit your old car, you can always look for the service manual online for your car model and try to match the exact part number. But more basically, if you look at what you have, and it looks like this piece, it probably is. Car makers like Honda use the same basic parts year after year, unless there is a good reason to change. It keeps dealers from having to stock or order many different parts.

Product fit perfectly in my 2000 Honda CRV,a bit ridiculous I couldn't order it from anywhere in Australia but happy somewhere other than China stocked it.The local auto store recommended ordering in a whole new centre brake light unit when all I needed was the socket!This saved me a lot of money!
