These little doohickeys work with the nylon locknut style lock nut. They pound into the axle tube key way, piercing the nylon and locking the nut in place. Both the nut and this guy are supposed to be single use vs other licking styles. Cheap and effective

Did the job on a Dana 70 rear axle on my 96 ram 2500. One thing to note is that the paint comes off easily, I removed with some brake cleaner to make sure that I didn't have any paint chips floating around.

Like brand new, I do not want a wheel wondering off my truck when towing 14000 lbs. I replaced the nut and the lock wedge when I serviced the hub body on my Dana 80 axle.
