I was sure excited over this design. I was going coming from a tang washer. I didn't like how the tang section would catch on the castle nut and I was concerned it would giving me a false tight feeling while installing new bearings and races. I decided to try these after several attempts to get a proper adjustment/play in the bearings.They arrived yesterday and I took off my old castle nut and tang washer and gave these a shot. Maybe these are cheaper than a Dexter brand part but they bent instantly when attempting to install. I removed it and straightened it out and made another attempt. It when on and seem to snap around the nut provided and I was calling that good. I moved to the second axle and once again, it snapped on the nut with a good sound. I check around the nut and it seems like all the points were grabbing the back side of the nut. Just out of spite, I grabbed the retainer and gave it a wiggle and it popped right off in my hand. I moved back to the first axle and the retainer there was loose. With a slight twist of the nut, that one popped right off also.I can't trust loosing a tire with these. I'm going back to the tang lock design.
